We managed to book not long before we arrived and we chose it because of the late check in. It was great that the pub was able to accommodate us at such short notice. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast was really good.

Great location in Kelso with impressive views over garden/River Tweed.Good food and friendly staff.
We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. There are, however, a number of bigger towns within a reasonably short drive. so a car is essential to get about.
Booked last minute due to a train strike, and what a find. Great traditional hotel in a lovely village setting. Very good food (both evening meal & breakfast) and the real ale looked good too (I did not try sadly). Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I needed to work and they pointed me to a downstairs table, WiFi and looked after me until done.
If you go take any books DVDs you no longer want and check out the bus stop near the old church which is a community swap stop! (although you may come away with replacements :) )
The hotel was very nice and the staff friendly. We had a late change of dates due to a bereavement. Even though we had prepaid and there were no cancellation / refund options open to us via booking.com I called the hotel direct and they helped me change dates with no penalty. They were very accommodating. Evening dinner was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant really good.
Room had everything we needed. It was clean, spacious and had a great shower.
The Hotel was very comfortable and the food was excellent. we had an excellent evening meal and the breakfast was superb. All the staff were friendly and very welcoming. Really enjoyed our stay, great surrounding countryside and roads for us on the motorbike.,
Excellent breakfast. Perfect location for our fishing trip. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food. Excellent wine list. Very comfortable bed. Perfectly located for our fishing trip. All round great value for money. We will definitely return to this hotel.
we were driving home from Scotland, were too tired to continue journey so decided to stay overnight before continuing journey back to London.
We were pleased that the Wheatsheaf Hotel could accommodate us on a B&B basis.
fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff, I used this hotel as a base to sightsee and visit Scotland, borders and Northumberland. Very good place for the foodies to enjoy - the meals were superb.
