The Manager and all the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was really good wholesome food. Really enjoyed our stay.

We were warmly greeted by staff after a long days cycling, and staff offered help with storing our bikes for the night and gave us a comprehensive tour of the facilities.
The pub has a lovely beer garden and the dinner and breakfast (breakfast was included in the booking) were delicious. The en suite facilities were excellent. We felt very comfortable here and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking.

Great food. Even bigger yes! (You must have the mixed grill if it is on!)
We took our Husky X (Juke) and could not fault our stay. Yes there are a few issues here and there, but none that affect your stay in the slightest (if you have realistic expectations of an aged building - yes, the stairs creak; yes, the water takes time to heat up, but i'm sure we all have bigger stresses in life)! You get what you pay for and more at The Shady Oak; just remember, you're not staying at the Ritz! If you have an issue, let them know, they'll sort it so you don't have to.
