The Crawfield Grange was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. We were asked what we’d like for breakfast the next morning and it was all freshly cooked to perfection. Lovely hosts, great accommodation.
It's our home town & we were there visiting family.
It's our home town & we were there visiting family. Lots on offer from places to eat & drink with coastal views . Beautiful walks taking in Historic castles & woodland .Lady Kennedys Bath in Dunnottar woods is a life long favourite place of mine. Bring your walking shoes & explore.

The harbour area is lovely to wander and pause for a coffee. The beach has an extended walk way, but it's mostly a pebble beach. There's an open air swimming pool for warmer months, and several places to eat including excellent fish and chips! The area around the market square has a lovely range of small independent shops to explore.

Stonehaven is a beautiful seaside town located just twenty minutes by train south of Aberdeen. I can highly recommend visiting the old town siuated around the harbour and old pier which by far are the most attractive parts. Also highly worth visiting is Dunnotter Castle which is just thirty minutes walk south of the town. On the way to the castle you pass a war memorial atop of a hill which is also worth a visit. I also visited Dunnotter Church. Unfortunately the chutch itself was locked, however the graveyard was very peaceful and picturesque. And as a bonus Stonehaven claims to be the birthplace of the battered Mars Bar, which you can sample if you so wish...

We visited Stonehaven to experience the Fire Ball event at Hogmanay. This is the second time we have been and it most definitely did not disappoint. It was fabulous.
It is quite a small town and over New Year a lot of restaurants and pubs were shut but this is to be expected.
We really liked the Ship Inn at the harbour and the Market Inn on the Market Square. There were a couple of nice gift shops and easy access to the beach.
There is a bus running between Stonehaven and Aberdeen which we would have taken had we more time. There is also a castle close by (you would need a car).
The locals are really friendly and make you very welcome.
Overall I would recommend Stonehaven and look forward to returning in the better weather to experience more of what is on offer.

The beach looked great but it wasn't too warm.
The beach looked great but it wasn't too warm. The castle is a bit of an uphill struggle, however there is a bus. Unfortunately if you suffer from vertigo it probably won't be for you.
We've been told that it is great for watching dolphins and seeing the Northern lights unfortunately we didn't see either but it is a great place to go. We'll certainly be back.

It’s a lovely friendly town , plenty of cafes and individuals shops . It has a good beachfront and you can walk to the castle . We enjoyed the walk but found the actual castle a bit underwhelming and it’s quite expensive for a family , it doesn’t have a cafe or gift shop and the toilets left a lot to be desired , when we go back we’ll just do the walk and take a picnic for down at the beach . The kids loved the park beside the leisure centre and Aunty Betty’s ice cream shop was a hit
The staff at Number 44 were faultless. Went the extra mile to make our stay all the better. We had contacted the property ahead of schedule to ask for their help and they could not have done more! Thank you so much that. Michelle in the restaurant works tirelessly and keeps on smiling, a real asset to the hotel. Food was of a high standard, so good in fact we eat there both nights we visited. I would highly recommend this property if travelling to the area if only just for dinner.
Hotel was happy to discuss arrival time, I was travelling a distance. Professional and efficient on arrival. Comfy room, wasn't ensuite but I was aware. Bar open and friendly, it had been a long day.
Good location for travelling north on the A90, onward to Aberdeen the next day.
Hadn't stayed in Stonehaven before so discovered the castle that someone at home had told me about, and learnt a bit about the town, which I enjoy. Petrol and sandwiches next morning at the M & S garage.
The location was fabulous, right on the harbour, a sea view room meant lots of people watching from the window. The restaurant upstairs was fabulous with more great views and windows that actually opened to let the fresh air in, this was especially good as we visited during an unexpected heat wave. The food was plentiful and the breakfast was AMAZING with our own selection of breads, hams, cheese, pastries and fruit. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Lovely view of the beach from my room... Clean facilities, room was spacious enough for 2 adults and a toddler. Shower facilities are great and the water pressure was ideal!
Lovely variety for breakfast and dinner menu. Pleasant staff at both hotel and restaurant.
Also situated in the main street, sooo perfect access to convenience stores, taxis and also the beach. Surreal views of the coastline on a sunny day with blue skies.
Excellent location within Stonehaven for the waterfront , harbour and Dunnotar Castle
Reserved private parking.
Apartment was immaculate , comfortable with the comforts of home .
A small treat greeted us on arrival compliments of Teresa our host .
Communication was great , Teresa was only a phone call away if needed .
Overall we had a brilliant time in Stonehaven.
Many thanks Teresa .
Superb location, right on the harbour, you could not be closer to the heart of Stonehaven - a short stroll to the town, or longer walks to Dunnottar or along the bay. The Ship and Marine are the best spots in Stonehaven for food and drink and atmosphere - highly recommended. Bedroom is nice and bathroom is fine. Breakfast was DIY, although there was plenty of choice.
We have stayed at the Station Hotel in Stonehaven many times and are always very happy with our stay. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful. My husband got THREE poached eggs and my cheese omelette was delicious.
This time we got a triple room for the same price as a double which gave us the extra space.
Great location right next to the harbour. Equipment and furnishings all excellent. Spotlessly clean, excellent bathroom. The local bakery on the pier is really (too....) handy for morning pastries! Ship Inn is popular and food is good too. Stonehaven makes a good base for exploring the coast and local area.
Great location to walk around Stonehaven, free street parking. We didn't realize there was a washer on site and were pleasantly surprised as we were about 7 days into our trip and our clothes needed to be washed. Great breakfast, clean space. Host was very communicative on check in, check out, etc.
We stayed for 3 nights with our 5 year old granddaughter. Comfortable well furnished and equipped and quiet apartment. Nice welcome pack .Good communication with owner about key and parking. We were familiar with Stonehaven so knew the location was close to sea and town centre.
The property was perfectly positioned to explore Stonehaven and the surrounding area. The flat was tastefully decorated as well as being fun and a bit quirky! There was a lovely ambience with careful attention to detail.
the location is as good as it gets. set 1 row back from the harbour front to alleviate any noise when it gets busy.
the cottage has a great feel to it, with a cozy fireplace and comfortable living quarters
Lovely Hotel with really helpful and friendly staff. Amazing food, really good breakfast and the room was clean and comfy with an amazing view of the harbour. Will recommend and definitely stay again.
A very clean hotel and across the street from train station. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are newly redone and very pretty. Restaurant was good and spacious.
Lovely setting on the harbour at Stonehaven. Great friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good food in the bar and restaurant, staff always managed to get us a table despite being very busy.
