The rooms were so spacious and decorated beautifully. The hotel is very charming and you feel really at home. Everything was thought about with a variety of teabags, oat milk and even calming spray in the bathroom.
Had everything I needed and more! Staff very friendly and accommodating. I had a great sleep and the location was so beautiful to wake up to in the sunshine. Exceptional value for money!

Everything was perfect. The room was perfectly clean, spacious, warm and the beds were very comfy. Top quality shower and bathroom. Andy and Christine were both very welcoming since we got there, making sure we had the most peaceful weekend away from home. Our breakfast next morning was super delicious and cooked by Christine and Andy - yummy homemade english breakfast. We will definitely come back when we are again in the area. Thanks for everything!

The farmhouse is a stunning house with beautiful views of the castle and gardens. It could not be more conveniently located if you have come to see the castle and gardens and go hiking through the beautiful countryside. The hosts were very kind and friendly and the breakfast was also nice with a wide selection (although we were surprised that our neighbouring table was offered alternative milk options and sour dough bread) which we did not know were available to my lactose intolerant son. I suppose we were supposed to ask for it? Nevertheless, that aside, the complimentary afternoon cream tea with cake accompaniment was also delightful and very delish! The rooms were very pleasant although as we were on the very top floor, just as something to note, we did not have the pleasure of the high ceilings as in the rest of the house and you do have to go up a flight of stairs if you are disabled. However we did have lovely views and bright rooms. Also the bathroom sink is a bit tiny so you need to throw down the bath mat if you don't want to get the whole floor wet. All in all it was a very nice stay . The best part is the beautiful building and location.

I was there to attend a funeral just before the Winter Solstice, not on holiday on this occasion. I enjoyed a previous visit there. It is a very small country town surrounded by the Kent countryside, with dark, winding country lanes, oast houses, orchards and fields of sheep. There is a small railway station, often unmanned, but as a non-driver, I was dependent on friends and the manager of the hotel for car transport and to find my way around. On my previous visit I enjoyed visiting nearby National Trust properties and a garden centre with cafe in the town.

I grew up here but now there is only one pub where there used to be five. Also there is no accommodation available at all in the village. So all in all there's not really much scope for tourism here.

Staplehurst is a typical Kent village with history and a mix of residential and attractive rural properties.
There are some lovely walks around the area. It is not far to drive to Tenterden with its impressive high street or to other villages like Cranbrook with historic pubs.
Staplehurst has a good Sainsbury's for grocery shopping and a train station to commute to London.

Very friendly staff and excellent food served in the inn.
Very friendly staff and excellent food served in the inn. The room was just what we needed for an overnight stay before going on to Rye.
Bed was very comfortable and room was extremely clean and recently refurbished. All the staff made our dog feel very welcome too.
Great value for money too.
Wonderful - the owners Alison, John & family were just so helpful, welcoming and accommodating. They even provided a shuttle service into Staplehurst on a non-shuttle service day! Certainly going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable....even with entertaining stories in the excellent bar area! Comfortable and very reasonably priced accommodation, tasty full English breakfast all highly recommended - would definitely stay there again.
Comfortable atmosphere with excellent outdoor facilities if needed. Well cooked and presented food with reasonably priced drinks. I would like to mention the friendliness of not only the staff at the hotel but of all the people we met during our stay.
Beautiful Kent countryside location with great access to footpaths. Well appointed and clean rooms. Helpful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast in a cozy pub setting. Comfortable bed.
My stay at the Hawkhurst in the hole was or met my needs perfectly I chose well and have no regrets and will keep the Hawkhurst in mind for my future visits to the Staplehurst area.
