Comfortable bedroom, it can be very noisy if you want an early night as it's just over a pub. We didn't get too bothered by that as we went to bed late.
They had gluten free toast and adapted the breakfast to suit me.

Springholm is a small village and a great place to stay only a few miles from both Dumfries and Castle Douglas. Forget the mainstream hotels and stay here. It's like hotels used to be. Family run and friendly with the personal touch.

Don't book expecting a cold sterile plastic hotel.
Don't book expecting a cold sterile plastic hotel.
It's a warm, family oriented, old fashioned place with old fashioned, quaint decor and a good mix of children's bits n bobs kicking around. It's clean, welcoming and ran with care and value for money beyond compare.
You'll get a first class meal if required and an absolutely superb breakfast in a lovely little dining room.
The steak was superb and the pudding was just amazing, served attentively but not overbearingly, outside in glorious weather.

springholm is a small village, the only pub was the grapes, for any other meals then a visit to Dumfries or Castle Douglas is the only other options but the evening food served at the hotel was very good, and a nice selection along with daily specials, the breakfast was also very good, from there we had plenty of places to visit, portpatrick, the gem rock museum in creetown, castle Douglas and Threave castle and threave gardens, are also worth a visit!
