The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The ambiance was perfect. Can't wait to see the log fire burning when we return in November. Nothing was too much - you only had to ask.

The location is beautiful with amazing views. However if you’re staying in the Manor House there is nowhere to sit outside and enjoy the view. There is a tiny walled courtyard next to the car park

A beautiful building and garden, the welcome was warm with tea and freshly baked cakes.
Fiona is a wonderful host, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast had so much choice, cooked to order, home baked bread.....
Fiona was very kind and welcoming to my rescue dog. Taffy loved being on the farm and fell for one of the labs.
With Fiona's family being as welcoming it felt as though I was part of the family.
Thank you Fiona I've had a really relaxing holiday and we will definitely visit again .

South Molton felt very safe, quiet and friendly. Nice shops just wish they had been open longer and on Sundays. Easy access to things such as other towns for days out. Lovely to have a butchers and cheese shop and sweet shop, aswell as convenience stores.

South Molton is a small, attractive Devon town with a twice-weekly covered market selling all kinds of goods and crafts. The town is well-served by supermarkets and quirky shops, along with several restaurants and cafes - one of them being the outstanding "Rachel's", offering great food and bakery items.

A well established Devon market town.
A well established Devon market town. Lively Pannier market, many quality eating places, small enough to get around on foot over a day. Very handy for touring North Devon beaches, towns and Exmoor countryside.

A beautiful location, if you want peace and exploring the outdoors then it was great, lots of places to take your dog. We recommend the Black Venus Inn, Challacombe for food only 30 mins from South Molton and the Exmoor Pony Centre, Dulverton again not far for an educational and fun experience for adults and children, all money raised goes towards the charity and looking after the horses. Thank you to the staff at the Pony Centre who made the day very special for my two girls and clearly had a lot of knowledge and passion for the horses. We had lovely sunshine so were very lucky on our time in South Molton, we explored Exmoor and got to see the ponies in the wild and didn't have to rely much on indoor entertainment but there are other places to visit if not so lucky with the sun but these places we did visit and do highly recommend.

South Molton is a busy market town with quirky shops, a supermarket, an everyday local store and many great eateries too! There is an interesting, regular market with food, antiques, several bric-a-brac stalls, art of many kinds, books, plants and much more. This "pannier" market is held under cover near to the George. The town is also well-placed for lots of visitor attractions, including a fascinating Bee Centre and the RHS Rosemoor Garden Centre, both of which have great menus.
The bedrooms were very well made up, and I loved the bedding. The space itself was spacious and set across 2 floors. We had 2 small dogs with us, and there was tons of outdoor space for them to safely enjoy. There was even a carton of milk and pack of cookies upon arrival, and the kitchen had essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, tea and coffee for us to enjoy our hello fresh dinner and morning cuppa respectively. I loved the bathroom - very hotel-like set-up, and they even had a non-slip mat, which made it easier to bathe our son in the tub.
This was our first stay in the area and the cottage was just right. Large rooms, Bathroom huge! Every comfort has been provided. The sofas were super comfy too. The new owners (since July last year) have obviously put their heart and souls into providing a relaxed comfortable cottage. We were really impressed with South Molton, especially the Saturday and Thursday Pannier market, an absoulte must visit, livestock market on Thursdays too!
Breakfast was very good. Adjustments to the list of options were undertaken by the hosts if at all possible.
With SECURE PARKING and the location just off the main street there was plenty to do within walking distance.
If we did need our vehicle, arrangements could be made at breakfast time and host's mobile number enabled guests to keep in touch.
Very handy for touring North Devon and Exmoor.
A beautiful old property set in the heart of South Molton, within easy reach of the North Devon coast.
We had a really spacious room at the front of the house, tastefully decorated, with an enormous comfy bed. The bathroom was huge too with a powerful shower providing copious hot water.
The owner, John, was the nicest host and did the best cooked breakfast.
Two nights at the Castle for a short break in Devon. The whole experience was excellent. The room was really good, the food and beer were excellent too. The staff made a special effort to produce an evening meal for us and our friends on the second night, after staff illness had caused them problems. This was much appreciated.
It was a great little place for us to stay for a couple of nights. Right in the centre of South Molton but set back from the road which made it quiet. Everything was very clean and tidy and we felt very much at home. I trust we left it in the state we found it 😊
The kitchen was very well equipped which was a bonus. The flat also had good floor area so we could spread out and it didn't feel cluttered. . The surroundings were calming & a welcome change from looking out of a hotel window.
Beautifully presented hotel, bed very comfortable in a very pleasant room.parking permit to rear of hotel.. WithVery pleasant staff, Exellent full English breakfast and afternoon tea on request. All in all a excellent stay.👍😀
It was a great place to base ourselves - not far from the centre of south Molton, with easy access to other parts of Devon. Our host was really lovely and friendly, the rooms were spacious and immaculate - highly recommend.
Food was good and portions generous. Nice well well designed site. Good for families and adult travelers and close to South Molton perfect for the event we were going to.
The room was very clean and quiet after the pub shut at 11pm.The location, being close to South Molton was convenient. The cooked breakfast was very good.
