Boasting a garden and views of mountain, The New Inn 1730 is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Appleby, 20 km from Askham Hall.

A fabulous 2 night stay at The New Inn 1730. Breakfasts and evening meal were great with the added bonus of a Sunday roast that was scrummy. Room suited us perfectly as friends on a walking trip with a double bed in one part of the room and an additional room with the single bed and ensuite. Warm welcome from the host each time we saw him - thank you Laurie. We will definitely revisit in the future. Louise

The property was maintained and decorated beautifully, in keeping with the age of the building. It has a lovely atmosphere which gives a relaxing feeling and is a stepback into the world and time in which it was created. Amy is a wonderful host and ensures you a tremendous welcome, doing all she can to make you comfortable. Gardens are waking up to spring and will be in full bloom soon. A fabulous location for enjoying the Westmorland countryside and superb landscapes for walking, painting, etc. Will be glad to return.
