The cross swords is a basic b&b they offer continental breakfast if pre ordered. The room is nice and clean. The shower was great. The staff welcoming. A beautiful country village ideally located for Rutland water with near by falconry centre. Our friends stayed locally camping .we chose a warm dry comfortable room. The TV didn't work very well due to the atmospheric pressure of a rainy overcast weekend. In my opinion compared to the camp site fees. We were visiting skillington over the Easter weekend to see family and wanted accommodation that was local. The cross swords is normally fully booked all year round but we were lucky enough to secure a room. We had a wonderful visit. The accommodation was perfect it met all expectations as did the location, setting, aminitites and friendliness, I would highly recommend The Cross Swords.LindaUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Near A1 and easy to locate from B676 road going east from melton. O2 signal a bit rubbish. Everyone i met and talked to was helpful and friendly. Only 3 miles from buckminster and its church and barn wedding venue. Ideal.
