A thatched cottage right by the river, and my room (no 10) overlooked the river and the bridge. The river is so picturesque, and sitting in the garden in the sun was wonderful after such a long drive from Yorkshire.
The room was nice and tidy, not expensive in its fittings etc, and that suited me.
My room was in the roof space (watch your head if you are tall) and was fairly warm, probably due to the thatch keeping the heat in.
Also the cooked breakfast was very nice.
Enjoyed all of my 2 night stay, and was very good value.

Cool, quirky room and furniture design. Uber comfortable bed and fluffy towels, and lovely bathroom lotions. Problem with the TV was sorted out within 30 minutes. Really excellent service.

Verry friendly staff. After 4pm free parking is possible in the streets around the guest house. City Centre is in walking distance, about 10-20min. Breakfast is cereal, fruits, bred, anything I liked. Room and area is quiet.

I liked the quietness and cosiness of the place. Great TV and location, not very far from the centre of Exeter. I would stay here again if I had the chance.
A lovely, cosy stay. It was a flying visit as I was travelling alone for work but really appreciated how friendly and accommodating the kind staff were on my arrival. Fish and chips for dinner was great! The room was small and cosy, perfect for a solo traveller. Facilities were good and everything was clean. Bed was very comfy and surroundings were lovely. Had a tasty breakfast the next morning, too. Thanks for a great stay!

Silverton is a quiet village situated around 10 miles...
Silverton is a quiet village situated around 10 miles outside of Exeter. It has a small shop, a couple of pubs & lots of older housing, many buildings with thatched roofs. It also has a reasonable bus service on a route between Exeter & Tiverton, that allowed me to have a car-free day on my break. The peace & quiet of the rural location was much appreciated!
We have stayed at the Silverton Inn before. The fact that we returned shows that we liked it, and it was at least as good this time, if not better. The rooms are comfortable, very well decorated and equipped. Everything worked, which is more than can be said for the much more well-known hotel we had stayed at the night before. The staff were all lovely, and the food and beer were excellent. We shall certainly return if we need to stay in that area again.
Silverton is off the beaten track, but if you like that kind of thing the location is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and all the basics needed for an overnight stay are available on site. The general atmosphere at the pub is nice too: it's a proper 'village local' of the kind that's now increasingly rare.
This was a stopover for us as we headed towards Cornwall. It was an unexpected gem. The staff were friendly and engaging. The meals were of an exceptional standard. The room was very comfortable. I would highly recommend. There is a free parking area not far from the hotel in Wyndham Rd.
Superb accommodation. Lovely and clean and the food served is excellent quality. The roads leading to Silverton can be testing and the parking mentioned is actually in the street wherever you can find room. However, having said that, we had no problems finding somewhere to leave the car.
The Silverton Inn is a great place to stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculately clean, the bed very comfortable & room stylish & quiet. A really enjoyable stay followed by a perfect full English breakfast. Thanks guys you're doing a great job.
Silverton is a lovely little village in Devon, I have my Uncle living there and he does not have much space for guests so staying at the Inn is a good alternative.
Loved the village - friendly people, two good pubs.
Silverton Inn foods were tasty and reasonably priced.
Easy drive into Exeter.
