The room was very nice and the staff were very welcoming in both the hotel and the restaurant and bar. The food was also very good. The staff was also very helpful when we left something behind and held it for us to collect a couple of days later, for which we were very grateful.

We were staying here because we had a flight early in the morning. Staff were really nice, and the room was clean. Overall, it was a good stay just for the night.

Superb staff, exceedingly welcoming.
We had an issue with the loo, the water took about 5 hours to stop running after a flush, then you could flush again.
Lack of information for residents in rooms.
Comfortable and clean, nice toiletries,

The reception staff (Cathy) was unhelpful and bordering on rude. The barman told my adult son that my husband and I were "stupid" as we didn't know the currency and had to ask if we had given the correct coins. There was no early check-in available and no secure place to put your luggage while you waited for your room. When we walked to our room we passed a lot of dirty dishes left on the stairs. The room was tired with chipped paint on the walls and cupboards. Breakfast was okay but don't expect all the hot food options available at one time.
The water pressure was fantastic and the grounds were beautiful. The cab company recommended by the hotel was fantastic.

We love the location, Food and the relaxing facilities { ie: Pool,Sauna, Jacuzzi} that the Hotel offers.
However, we were given a Room in the Basement which had no Phone or WiFi reception, and a Fridge would have made our stay even more enjoyable.

If you look at August review Helen they also had superior room that smelt like sewer so the hotel purely hadn’t corrected this in August we had just come back today 20th September when we complained today attach this to my previous review please of complaint wish had seen before booking would never have gone especially o suffer from Copd too
Exactly as described- a cosy cottage - surrounded by farm buildings and lovely garden. The owner had provided a welcome pack of milk, bread, cheese, butter, fruit, wine, etc. which was fantastic. There are some country walks from the cottage or into Sawbridgeworth. A perfect place to stay while visiting family in Bishop's Stortford. Would definitely stay here again.
We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who explained everything really well. We had a lovely room not too far from the lift. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff in every part of the hotel were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend.
The food was beautiful this is the only thing I can say good to be honest , I can not fault the food at all we had a beautiful 3 course meal and breakfast the next day. The hotel clearly take pride in the downstairs more to get brides to book!
The hotel surroundings are just amazing, beautiful peaceful nature. The hotel itself is full of character, you feel like you are back in time in a good way. Room was very nice and spacious. The breakfast was really good!
Beautiful hotel. We needed quick accommodation flying cancelled flight, the receptionist was super lovely and helpful. The room was big spacious and comfortable. Check in and out (early the next morning) was easy.
Location was fantastic
It was great to have a good sized swimming pool as part of the hotel. There was a good selection of evening meals, starters and deserts.
Breakfast had a good choice for the cooked breakfast
It's a nice house , stayed only while settling in Harlow. Comfortable , got some good rest.
Quiet area! in that village.
