St Albans is a very friendly town with people opening doors and being kind and considerate.
We ate in whetherspoons in their Tudor barns and they also had an outdoor area to eat and drink if no rain! The pricing of everything we ate and drank was of good value and was very clean.
There was lots of places we wanted to visit but most of our holiday it rained! But we did visit the shops which are all different and have different price ranges and styles.

I was there for work so didn't really have a chance to look around the place. I managed a visit to the cathedral which is a marvellous hulk of a mediaeval building and still an active place of worship. Wel worth a visit.

A classic english town with traditional houses, historical places and a small but well-cared city centre. St.Albans has a wonderful gothic cathedral, the calm and nature of the wide city park and the oldest pub in the UK is there. Services and shops make the city a nice place to live and to visit.
Beautiful hotel and spa full of character. The grounds were smaller than expected took roughly 10 minutes to walk around. The spa was lovely. Clean changing areas and poolside. Our double room was a good size bigger than expected and the bed was huge. Breakfast was great with a good mix and great vegetarian options. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly. Rooms were well equipped with Elemis toiletries. Close to centre of St Albans.
The hotel was excellent in my opinion. It is in an historic building and we stayed in a small room but with good facilities and character. Also had car parking.
Ideal for visiting historic areas of the town and for shopping.
The food we had was excellent value for money including Sunday roast and breakfast.
The staff were helpful and polite, and we will happily stay here again.
A bonus for us was that for £10 a night the dog could stay with us.😁
The hotel is perfectly located to explore St Albans and the parking facilities provided are a big plus. The staff are very professional and welcoming and the facilities are excellent. This was our second stay at this hotel and we will certainly look forward to staying again.
Spotless, absolutely clean and felt safe! Really easy to find by car and ample spaces to park. Bed was really comfy, loved the luxurious feel of the duvet. Shower was nice and big. Room had lots of space in comparison to other hotels I've stayed at in the Hertfordshire area.
Very nice, super clean and spacious apartment. Well equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. Good for individuals, great for families. Good connection by bus to city centre. I can recommend it to everyone for a pleasant and peaceful stay in St Albans.
The breakfast was delicious. The grounds are also stunning with a beautiful view from the terrace. The spa is also stunning - spacious, clean, luxurious and pretty quiet in the evenings. This is the second time we've stayed at the hotel and would return indeed.
The room was a great size, plenty for myself and my partner. The location is ideal if you want to walk into the city centre and only a short walk from the train station. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but plenty of options close by.
Short walk to the Cathedral and an excellent choice of city centre restaurants and historic pubs. Very spacious room and exceptionally comfortable bed. Nice to stay somewhere with a bit of history and character. Would recommend.
The hotel is very well located in St Albans opposite the Abbey and very convenient for the centre of town. Nice hotel common areas and the room comfortable. Lovely walk in shower.
Well located near within walking distance of city centre, set in extensive graounds with lake, well furnished and equipped, comfortable bed, good breakfast, parking available
This was a lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great! Beds were comfy and shower powerful. What more could you want!
