The food was delicious, staff pleasant, we did the NC500 and this was the dearest hotel on our 11 hotel and B&B stays. Our thoughts on the price compared to all the others was over priced.

What we liked the most: the hut was very well and nicely decorated. Gillian made some items herself. The attention for detail is lovely.
The location is absolutely perfect, calm and quiet. You have privacy and your own entrance. Everything you needed was there. We only stayed for one night, but would like to return again.

Peter and Monica were very nice and helpful, the place was easy to reach and well located, quite comfortable for 3 persons considering the small size. Walking options 5 minutes from the chalet

Believe me - this farm house has been the highlight of our trip to Scotland. In the end, we never wanted to leave. It's beautifully furnished, it's how you expect a Scottish cottage to be. Everything was super clean, comfortable and all in all, a very beautiful atmosphere. We even got provided wood to make a fire. The surroundings are quiet and you have nature right in front of your door. What can I say, a dream stay! Thank you so much for maintaining such a beautiful place this well

We went to Plockton in the year 2000 and really like it so we made a diversion of the NC500 to go back.
But we had a problem finding places to eat all the hotels and resturants were fully booked. Luckily there was a fish and chip shop open, the next night we had dinner at lunch time so I sugrgest you pre book before you go

Small little and nice town but with nothing to do.
Small little and nice town but with nothing to do.
It is remorse from everything, the closest gas station is 8 mile away, there are only two restaurants serving only dinner, nothing for lunch except fish&chips from a fish&chips bar, youbhave to book table god knows when before the dining time in order to get a table...The town has no food store, you can not buy a bottle of watter anywhere.
BOTTOM LINE: STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOWN!
(Please be advised: I traveled alone, had i've been with a family for sure we would remain without dinner)

Plockton is attractive and charming, but difficult to get in and out of due to the number of single-track roads. Its popularity is its downfall - it ends up becoming crowded and awkward to get around. In addition, there is very little to do here unless you're a boater. If you are looking for a genuine get-away, chances are you won't be getting away if you come here.

I only stayed for one night so I didn't get to enjoy any of the local tourist attractions. I went there because I'm a fan of the cult horror film The Wicker Man. Plockton features very briefly in the early scenes and is used as the harbour for Summerisle.

Beautiful town with an 'interesting' drive in and out.
Beautiful town with an 'interesting' drive in and out. Locals range from friendly to slightly odd. Some of the Plockton hotel bar staff/punters were annoyingly middle class. Be prepared for snobbery.
