Its a small town on the river, with very few cars so the air quality good. The people are very friendly and the pubs and cafes accomodating. Went to walk by the river so the length of stay just right but if I'd gone for longer I'd get a train north to Aberystwyth for the day, not a bad rail service.

Newtown is a bustling little town but slightly away from the main tourist spots but still an ideal location to go and explore central and north Wales from. Plenty of bars and restaurants and a bit of night life.

I really liked how the owners showed us where everything was in the room. Explained how everything was being run because of Covid Made sure that my wife fully understood everything, seeing that my wife is deaf!! The layout of the dining room was very good and the lounge which was at our disposal was lovely I highly recommend this family run and catered hotel to anyone!! Very handy for Newtown, seeing it is four miles away from the town centre We will be returning there hopefully soon Thanks for an enjoyable weekend

Whilst visiting Newtown most if not everyone was adhering to the present pandemic rules in distancing and wearing a face covering in the high street and even in the wetherspoons pub. until you are seated, then you can order off the app and you get excellent table service well controlled. The whole place inside and out felt "safe".The food on offer in the Black Boy pub looked like massive portions too.

Vastly improved after the recent opening of the by-pass: it was once a traffic nightmare. Newtown is on the up without becoming pretentious. Choice of eating places, fascinating history - new town in 1297, non-conformism, liberalism, Pryce Jones the first mail-order company, and a train station. Edge of upland Wales and part of the Severn Valley - a great base for exploring and yet convenient for business trips.

Mike the Manager really helpful and friendly. Great central location. We upgraded to a River view executive room and what a lovely room it was too. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in and so relaxing just listening to the river. I would imagine the front of hotel to be noisier especially as there is a nightclub opposite. The cooked breakfast was included and it was very nice. If we are that way again, we will definitely re book

Having just spent two nights at Parkers House I can't fault this property. The room was very well presented and extremely clean. The bed linen and towels where of a standard you would expect from a 5* hotel. Breakfast was exceptional, the young lady who over saw breakfast was extremely attentive and happy to cater to any individual request. My partner and i are looking to return soon for another relaxing break

Zoe & Phil are very attentive, we've been looked after throughout the stay. The place is very, very clean with modern touches yet traditional Welsh. Location to Newtown is super convenient, whether on foot or by car. The farm itself is in a tranquil valley surrounded by hills with grazing sheep. Will definitely be our first choice when coming next. Thank you, Zoe & Phil.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, and they have no soul. This B&B was a wonderful change from the mediocre. The host was very friendly, the room was spotless and very comfortable, and the location was perfect. I only stayed for one night, but I wish it was longer.

Lovey hotel, full of historic charm and comfort. Well run by a helpful team. Close to Newtown with easy access to local sights and pubs/restaurants by taxi which the hotel can help you book. Also, they have a good website which is worth a look for the history of the place.

There were books to read many of them. Lovely bed. Comfy sofas. Great parking right outside the door. Loved the fairy lights. If we ever go to Newtown again would recommend the little coach house.
