We were a family of 5 and booked the Piggery 1 bed cottage and The Stables 2 bed cottage, both dog friendly. The most beautiful cottages we have stayed in, renovated to a very high standard. Had everything we could possibly need. Warm and cosy and the most comfortable beds.

The main A66 is a beautiful route but if you have the time I thoroughly recommend the scenic route through Barnard Castle, Alston, Slaggyford, to Carlisle rather than the main A66
