Medehamstede Hotel, hotel in Newchurch

The Medehamstede Hotel is set amongst spacious well-kept gardens in the coastal town of Shanklin.

I highly recommend this hotel. Staff very friendly, helpful. The hotel may not look great from the outside, but it is very beautiful inside. I mentioned at the reception that my son's birthday is next week and that's why, instead of carousels, I came up with a 2-day tour of the Isle of Wight. My son got a cake for breakfast, and then a delicious breakfast. The hotel made us feel like we were staying with our best friends, they even helped us book a ferry at a promotional price. I give them 10/10 stars. My son said that this hotel feels like Harry Potter because the building looks small, but we walked for a long time through the corridors to get to the room. Our room had a sea view. Beautiful. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Luccombe Hall Hotel, hotel in Newchurch

With a superb cliff-top location and stunning sea views, this family run hotel has peaceful gardens, free WiFi, an indoor pool, an outdoor heated pool with terrace and a daily breakfast.

We paid extra for an executive room as we sleep much better in a super king bed. The room was very nice. Spacious room, comfy bed and great balcony which we may have used if we were staying more than one night. The fresh fruit and yoghurt at Breakfast was excellent.

    It was perfect for us.

It was perfect for us. It felt remote and only accessible by roads that were partially single track - yet not far (15 mins) from main resorts. Own transport is essential. Near to a cycle/walking track and great cafe. Lovely village reminding us of how things used to be.

A lovely village with the Red Squirrel Trail on what used to be a railway line offering great walks, bike rides and peace and tranquility. Great cafe (The Pedlars) and first class pub food to be had too in The Pointer Inn.

We only used Newchurch as a base as we were meeting up with other friends in near-by Bembridge. The surrounding area was beautiful country side well known for cycling. Getting around the Island was easy may be more difficult in summer but this is the same everywhere. We ate at The Pointer Inn. Excellent food, service & atmosphere, really friendly helpful staff. Book a table to avoid disappointment.
