We didn’t like anything about our stay.

We didn’t like anything about our stay. I booked a deluxe room and was fobbed off with a tiny room which was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The shower dripped really loudly. We couldn’t control the radiators so the room was boiling. We did get moved to a room which was what I had booked originally in the end but again it was filthy and crawling with bugs. The carpets and walls were stained with something. The shower or tv didn’t work, we had no toiletries in the room and had to ask for toilet roll. The entire place looks like it is just a hostel for anybody, there were random people round about the hotel who were generally weird and didn’t seem like guests at all. There’s no facilities at the hotel even though it states online that the renovations are complete, there’s no bar or restaurant or amenities so there’s nowhere to eat or drink. Overall the stay was awful and we even had to phone booking.com to help us get back into the place at the night time because no info was given when we checked in and there is never anybody at the reception to answer our question. I definitely wouldn’t be staying there here again. The place is absolutely disgusting in terms of cleanliness.

We didn't spend much time in Mold itself but it was a convenient centre from which to explore Chester and N. Wales. It took a while to work out the best routes and some road directions were initially confusing but we managed OK. The Park and Ride facility for Chester was convenient and easy. Much better that driving round looking for parking.

Our stay was some 8 miles away from Mold in Afonwen.

Our stay was some 8 miles away from Mold in Afonwen. Mold is a small town with a great little market on Saturdays. Afonwen is a beautiful area with mountains, a nature reserve and a lake. A bird watchers paradise and great for walking and access to North Wales beaches.

Mold had charity shops and a few Quiet Pubs like a Wetherspoons But was turned away from the Red Lion Pub because was not a local & was not happy about that. The nearest hotel was not walking distance into Mold town as the Booking site had led me to believe But there was a Bus service into Mold and to Chester.

I liked the older style of the building and that all of the rooms were not the same and that it wasn’t part of a chain- however when I arrived it became clear it was more of a hostel than a hotel and I can see why it may be being changed to a refugee asylum. Lots of groups of men hanging around outside over holidays, no visible staff present (they hide in the staff area) and due it’s remote location and the fact there’s no one there overnight felt unsafe at times.

Really was expecting a hell hole, seen the reviews but took a chance. This was the closest cheapest hotel to where I needed to be so went for it. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised, room was big it was clean. The bed was great, the water hot definitely so much more than I thought. Yes it is being refurbished, but I didn’t hear a sound. Will definitely be a first choice not last when I’m next down in a few weeks.

Very quirky accommodation. Lovely added touch of small fridge with fresh milk and water. Also a microwave and plates bowls, cutlery, but we had booked for evening meal in the restaurant so didn't need them. Excellent service from the welcoming staff, plenty of choices on the menu. Good quality ingredients. Very enjoyable. Breakfast next day was of a similar high standard.

Arriving at premises was off-putting but once entered this changed, everything was new and perfectly clean. Our son who is a 5star hotel GM in Singapore would have appreciated the internal decor etc. The only internal complaint was the size of bedroom, the bed was against the wall at one side, may have been better with a narrower bed. A short walk into centre of Mold.

Peaceful location, but only a short drive from the A55. I was attending a concert at the Tivoli in Buckley in the evening, and again it was only a few minutes drive away. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Food and drinks in the bar were good. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.

A good hotel for an overnight stay. Good value. Clean. Nice surroundings. Breakfast was good - although I prefer fresh orange to the concentrate used in machines. Great that there was fresh honeydew melon available. Altogether a lovely breakfast dining environment. Room clean. Hairdryer good, but no iron.
