The Alverton is perched on the outskirts of Truro city centre. A magnificent, grade II listed building steeped in history, boasting original architecture dating back to the nineteenth century.

It was a great experience for the both of us, the charm and architecture of the old church was just as we had imagined, the rooms where perfect just what we needed. The restaurant was just as perfect as was all of the staff, will recommend the hotel to family and friends.

Staff very friendly lovely rooms. My only complaint is the rooms are so warm it unbearable to sleep. I was expecting a nice relax in the ‘spa’ but apart from a pool there were no beds or anything to relax so this was disappointing

We felt that the pub was formulaic in its approach to food and service and lacking in the sort of atmosphere that we were looking for - the room which granted was standard was generous but the ventilation and light were very poor. The location does not work unless you have a car.

Mitchell is a misleading address, probably for area identification or mailing purposes; the small town is actually Summercourt, and very close to nearby Newquay.
The village pub is fantastic, hosts are equally so, the locals friendly and welcoming to visitors.
The food is British fare, well cooked fresh food, well presented, the pub beautifully clean and a 17th century establishment - as is most of the village.
The town s centrally located and perfectly placed for exploring Cornwall from a quiet, rural, safe base.
The local church has an ancient history. The actual location predating the Celts as a sacred place, but evolving into a Christian church. Embellished by the Normans -11th century, and re-worked over centuries, it stands as a monument to British/Cornish history.
Huge and comfy bed, luxury toiletries provided. Wonderful and welcoming staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Good selection at breakfast and on the dinner menu too. Well stocked bar. Very clean and attentive room service. I would most certainly return again. The hotel itself is in a quiet village and yet 2 mins from the A30 with easy access to the rest of Cornwall.
The hotel had a lovely feel to it, super comfortable and cosy. The room was very spacious and extremely clean and the hotel was situated in a very pleasant and quiet spot halfway between Newquay and Truro which we liked. The staff were very helpful and approachable and overall we didn’t want to leave!
Very friendly staff, spacious impeccable rooms. We stayed often at Lewinnick Lodge their sister hotel so we knew what to expect but it sort of exceeded our expectations.
We enjoyed the restaurant with lovely warm atmosphere, friendly staff and exceptional cuisine.
Looking forward to going back.
The room was very spacious and accommodating. As well as providing a large standalone bath and walk-in shower wet room. It was a treat not being located in a traditional hotel arrangement but rather one of a number of apartments spread out across the property offered more the homely feel.
Modern, comfortable spotlessly clean room. Large comfortable bed, and lovely toiletries in the room. Breakfast was excellent, from traditional cornish through to pancakes. We also had dinner at the hotel - and the food was good. They also had a good selection of wines and beers.
The room was large, comfortable and well appointed, The bed was huge and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located right in the centre of Cornwall, close to the A30 so it is quick and easy to drive to any part of the county.
The hotel is perfectly located to discover the must sees of Corwall. The Hotel is charming, well equiped and serves good food.
Special mention for the very friendly staff who was able to accomodate our last minute requests despite the Covid and the crowd.
Loved this hotel the room was spotless, very comfortable. The staff were lovely and the food was some of the best I have ever tasted. It was very central for access to a lot of parts of Cornwall which was great. Perfect would go back in a heartbeat!
Lovely hotel with excellent customer focused friendly staff. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and food was great. Close to Newquay, Falmouth and Truro.
