The room was absolutely gorgeous. Kitted out brilliantly. A huge bed. They even provided beach towels. We had a dog with us, which we informed them of and there was a dog bed and food bowls there on arrival.

Very cosy and charming place. Wendy is the loveliest and most accommodating host and anyone who stays at her place is lucky. Her garden and continental breakfast were highlights. Will definitely be back !

Haven't visited Margete in over 20 years and was pleasantly surprised. The beach was lovely and sandy, with an actual sauna on the beach and some activities for kids, was nice to watch the yachts sailing around the little harbour, plenty of amusement arcades Nice little market in the old town, mainly craft/clothing items. Plenty of good places to eat/drink. Pete's fish and chips was lovely. Also ate at The Sundowners (LGBT) bar (which has a terrace overlooking the sea) and food was lovely there too! Margate is bustling with life and great for a day out or longer if you fancy!!

Didn’t like Margate as much as Ramsgate not many pubs there, the only decent place is the mechanical elephant other places were expensive bars which were not my scene no karaoke venues like Ramsgate, just like Guildford the rodboro buildings in the centre and very few pubs in a big town which are all spread out of the town instead of being in the centre, it’s one of those towns with more tea places and diners and less pubs in the towns, can’t beat my number one town Reading in Friar street.

Lots to do and see but be aware everything shut on Mondays.
Lots to do and see but be aware everything shut on Mondays. I visited the Turner gallery, shell grotto, crab museum. I didn't have time to see the caves. Great sunsets. Loads of places to eat. I would highly recommend the Bull's Head for Sunday lunch. Best roasties ever! The Olimpia Bakery does coffee and amazing cakes.

I loved the fact that Seaview was in the old town of Margate, directly opposite Turner Contemporary and beautiful beach. Useful information folder, recommending everything from places to eat drink, visit etc. Loads of free street parking, regular buses to surrounding areas. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, be that in restaurants, shops or the bus drivers. A wonderful experience!

Margate was beautiful they have a vintage market for anyone who loves the vintage look.
They have plenty of food bars and a food market we had a meal in a double decker bus it was amazing.
The beach was beautiful clean and golden and I even managed to find seaglass to take home .
There are main shopping centre but we didn’t get chance to go far .
It is what it is. Years ago this would have been a bustling classy hotel. It now has a worn-out, post-apocalyptic feel. As a hotel it merely survives. That is not the fault of the hotel at all. Its fate and seeming downward trajectory has been linked to that of Margate itself. I booked a room with bathroom, no more as nothing else is provided. But...the staff were real nice and it gives genuine value for money. I paid £40 and was treated very fairly. I have no complaints and would stay there again.
Everything. A lovely 1920s hotel that gies out of its way to transport you back to that bygone era when charm and service were provided with ease. It is a living museum as well as a hotel and exploring its corridors and public rooms is a delghtful experience. If you are looking for a bland, stereotypical, modern hotel then the Walpole Bay is not for you. But if you yern for the "good old days" then give this hotel a try. You will not be disappointed.
Hotel was very clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and helpful..especially as we broke down on our long journey down from Wirral to Margate and arrived late. Receptionist recommended a local garage and by the next day my car was fixed. We wanted to stay on an extra night and hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Excellent breakfast and really wonderful old Victorian building.
Location is perfect! And the view is exceptional!! The rooms are very big, and beautifully decorated. we liked the fact you have your own floor. Breakfast is brought to your room and the selection is fantastic! Made us feel very welcome and our little dog was treated like a king while we stayed at the pink house! Best B&B in Margate and fantastic hosts! We will return ♥️
Comfortable room, great host and yummy breakfast. The location is ideal because it's quiet yet only 10/15mins walk from main Margate via a route either by the road or along the seafront. We had a very enjoyable time and I always appreciate staying at an accomodation where the host makes the effort to ensure you have the best trip possible - thanks Jim!
Lovely stay at the Sherwood, didn't book a sea view however the room was nice, clean and quite spacious. Enjoyed a good breakfast. It was a only a few minutes walk to the main areas in Margate but obviously on the main sea front road. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you were staying in Margate for a couple of days.
Wonderfully welcoming and helpful hosts Kim and Teresa, great breakfast, clean and tidy room and bathroom facilities, and also very quiet. Location can't be beaten if you're using Margate station as it's a minute away. A traditional seaside hotel of the type that is sadly disappearing in favour of anonymous chains.
Fab location, sea view rooms available. The grouting in the shower needed attention in my room but my friends room was perfect. A little more attention to detail and I would have given this Hotel an excellent rating. Overall a good hotel that I would recommend. The glass of Prosecco on arrival is a nice touch 😉
Lovely apartment, and the snacks were appreciated, as well as the coffee.
Bed was wonderfully comfortable.
Great location - facilities on the doorstep and easy to walk into Margate, and along the coast path too (nice cafe with view at St Mildreds)
Good communication
Staff were very polite as you entered they helped me with my bags as I had a room upstairs. For a budget hotel it was clean, tidy and I can say I've been there twice now and I will be going bk there every time I visit margate
A wonderful host! Great flat and being right ontop of Walpole bay for a quick dip was amazing! Let alone the convenient stroll along the front to central Margate.
Bumping into a Beach boy at the bar just topped it off.
Location was great with a sea views. Ideal walking distance to the Centre of Margate. The two en-suites were a real plus. The kitchen was nicely equipped and very clean as appeared to be recently refurbished.
Good location for visiting Margate and Westgate.
Although the hotel is on a main road there was no traffic noise late at night and lots of parking spaces for guests.
Double bed was very comfortable.
The hotel was in a great and central location in Margate. The room was comfortable and stylish and there was a lovely courtyard to sit out in. The host Paul was very welcoming too.
A very nice bed and breakfast kept by lovely hosts Tracey and Colin. Will definitely use again when visiting Margate. Tip: book directly with them for a discounted price!
Great location, beautiful property with large garden, outdoor grill a bonus. Owner was great, very communicative, and everything was easy. Great stay in Margate.
Such a great hotel and great, friendly staff. Superb breakfast. Nice touches in the bedroom with snacks, drinks, robes and slippers. Loved the Margate Bingo 🤣
