Lowestoft is a busy working port.
Lowestoft is a busy working port. It has stunning beaches with golden sands.
We have family who chose to live there so we are lucky enough to visit them often.
We are wildlife lovers so there are so many places to visit a ride away like Minsmere and Carlton Marshes and the Norfolk coast.
The trip boat for Oulton Broad goes from right outside the Wherry Hotel and smaller boats can be hired.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town.
Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town. A beautiful beach south of the town, great for bathing, games and walks, and a beach north of the town that is more scenic but inaccessible due to the tides and ruined old sea wall. Loads of local attractions to visit including Africa Alive, the Transport museum, Sparrows Nest Park, Oulton Broad and Claremont Pier. Some great restaurants to eat at, but especially Sgt Peppers on the High Street. And being the most easterly place in the UK, make sure you get up early to see the sun rise. Spectacular on a clear morning!

The beaches are stunning with golden sands and beach huts.
There is a good bus service around the coast to Southwold, a gem, and Great Yarmouth.

Interesting seaside town.
Interesting seaside town. South Beach was perfect plenty of places to eat. The town centre altho big seemed a bit tired but the beach and front area had a buzz about it. The port side of it made it interesting too
The bed and the breakfast were outstanding. Mark and Derek were fabulous hosts, always ready with some advice and help and so very friendly. The house is so tastefully decorated, a truly beautiful example of Victorian Lowestoft, so much so that I would buy it if I had a chance. The beds and pillows were so comfy, something really important to us, and the breakfast I can honestly say was the best I'd ever had in a hotel or B&B.
Baytree is a quirky, lovely styled guest house, beautifully decorated with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The owner & staff are very friendly & accommodating. As a solo traveller, I felt very comfortable.
The hotel is a stones throw from the beach & large park in a lovely leafy quiet area of Lowestoft. I really enjoyed the continental breakfast & choice of foods. I will definitely rebook.
A buffet breakfast was included in the price. Plenty of choice and the friendly coffee lady made you welcome.
Food is served virtually all day so we were able to have late lunches.
The hotel itself is a lovely old building with carved wooden staircases and stained glass windows and a dining area looking over the broad.
Excellent. Second stay here. 2 different rooms now, both Humongous with en suites. Exceeds expectations. Can’t speak high enough of the place. Fantastic hosts. Breakfast is one of the best I’ve had. Stayed in many different hotels and Guest houses over the last 2 months with work. This is by far the best by a country mile.
Breakfasts were very good, and catered for my allergy requirements. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice glimpse of the sea. I would say that the hotel is located in the the nicer part of Lowestoft (and the beach is beautiful sand). The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Our room was so comfortable with a spacious lounge area. The bed was fabulous, best nights sleep we have ever had in a hotel, we wanted to take the mattress home!
Beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Two minute walk from beach front. After being at work all day it was a lovely place to go back too.
Next time we are in lowestoft we will definitelybe booking again.
Thank you
Only stayed for one night and can find no fault with the hotel or staff. Lowestoft will never be an attractive town but the southern parade around Claremont Pier is a pleasant enough spot.
The breakfast and the cleanliness of the hotel also the courteous staff. Made our stay very pleasant. We would have no reservation with respect to staying there again.
Good location, very friendly hosts, delicious cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend this B&B if you're visiting Lowestoft or the surrounding area.
