Well-made wooden lodges with excellent showers and good cooking facilities (sharp knives). The Witch's hut barbecue was a huge hit with the children. The host, Mark, took time to make sure we were settled in and ready. There is lots of space for play, a croquet set, football field and some bikes for loan.

Relaxing and peaceful stay. It was cold and raining outside which made it all the more perfect for getting the log burner going and having a cosy night in the yurt.

Long Melford is definitely a place to stay and enjoy. We used it for a functional purpose as we were touring the area. National Trust property adjacent and a good gig street can occupy time just browsing.

Long Milford is long!
Long Milford is long! It’s a beautiful and striking place with a wonderful church and green at one end and a long engaging street which takes you to the other. Milford Hall sits near the church and is a National Trust site well worth a visit. Classic Suffolk architecture runs down the high street.

We have visited Long Melford before a few years ago.
We have visited Long Melford before a few years ago. It is a nice place to travel to. Some shops have closed but it is still interesting with its Pubs and Cafe's. Plenty of little villages and towns to explore while staying there. We were able to reach places of interest during that time.
Not far from us in Essex and Hertfordshire with lovely changes of scenery.
Very relaxing weekend.

It is as lovely old village, 3 miles long with some vey interesting period buildings. Our highlight was the Abbey Church at the top of the hill; one of the top 3 churches in England and Melford Hall, a gem of a NT property. We sent hours exploring the hall, listening to the guides and search out the references to Beatrix Potter who was a frequent visitor. We also chose to stay there because of its proximity to Lavenham, one of the prettiest villages in England, a MUST visit village. Long Melford has a great range of hotels , pubs and bars, you can choose to spend what you like. We eat in the Cock and Bull where we obtained two main meals for £14.00, excellent value, extensive range and served piping hot.

Long Melford is a lovely village with lots of interesting things to do and two big houses to visit. "Imagine" is an excellent gallery for pottery. The church is special and has unique brasses.
All the staff were lovely. Being an old building I didn’t expect the room to be as big as it was. I have fibromyalgia so had to ask for an extra quilt, so I could lay on one and put the other over me, it was provided immediately. The meals were superb and so much nicer as I didn’t have to cook them myself. The hotel car park wasn’t very big but we normally managed to find a space on the road and parking was free which is rare these days.
This was a lovely place that had all sorts of comforts- a nice terrace outside, basic cooking facilities, including a fridge and microwave, makings for a good breakfast, and a good location within walking distance of the center of Long Melford. It is effectively a room- so not to make out that it is a self-catering property, but basic picnic meals could be prepared and eaten on the terrace. And, it was a reasonable price!
Amazing stay once again. Lovely little village with lots of places to eat. Accommodation is pure luxury with such attention to detail from the home made cake to the little ducks for the bath if you can find them. Just park your car up right outside your room and explore. Lovely hosts that look after you and cook you a fabulous breakfast. If your thinking about it don't just book it you won't be disappointed.
The lodge is very comfortable and has everything you need. It's very relaxing to sit in the garden and spend time watching the sunsets. Long Melford is a lovely town with lots to see and do in the area. Kayaking near Sudbury, cycling on the disused railway and plenty of walks. Would definitely recommend this accommodation. The complimentary breakfast items were much appreciated. Thank you.
Very good pub/hotel in a fine location, the outlook from our room being over a large green at one end of the long main street which presumably gives Long Melford its name. Food and service were high standard. Nearby is a fine example of one of the impressive 'wool churches' which arose in this area from the wealth from wool in the Middle Ages. Plenty to visit locally.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable in a nicely appointed and historic building. Breakfast was excellent, very well cooked with some of the best tasting bacon and sausages I have ever had. Long Melford is a great base from which to explore South West Suffolk eg Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, etc. We would happily stay here again.
Beautiful quiet location right next to the village green and near the amazing wool church. We were told breakfast would be ‘continental’ but don’t let that put you off - it was absolutely fantastic, with fresh pastries, toast, Lancashire bomber cheese, confitures and yoghurt.
The hotel is beautifully designed and very dog friendly too.
Such a quaint and lovely setting especially the seating areas and garden outside of the barn. Ideal for getting to Long Melford and Lavenham
Loved the quirkiness of the cottage and all the little touches.
Bed was very comfortable
Breakfast was continental with cereals, toast, crumpets, croissants and nice pastries!
First and foremost Joanna was a lovely host who was very accommodating and easy to contact. The property was in a peaceful location with Long Melford high street on your doorstep. It was very well equipped and Joanna added some lovely little touches with a welcome pack. Would definitely recommend.
It was a beautiful property and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay in long Melford during our visit with family. The yard is beautiful. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of things to cook with. The beds are comfy. They provided a few games for the kids. It was a lovely stay.
So pleased with our delightful stay. Claire and Laurie we're the perfect hosts. Made us feel very welcome, provided a delicious breakfast and a comfortable room. No issue with any traffic, room was nice and toasty! Would be very happy to stay again when visiting the fabulous Long Melford.
It was a lovely, cozy, comfortable and well equipped cottage with everything we needed for a short romantic break. Good location, just a short leisurely walk from the centre of Long Melford where you find an ample supply of pubs, tea rooms, shops, antique emporiums, etc
Room was luxury. Wood burner a bonus. Breakfast was a good choice and excellent. Recommend pancakes.Paul and Clare excellent hosts. Lot's of information on the Mill and Long Melford. Can't wait to go back sometime in 2023. We highly recommend The Mill.
It is a pretty rural location. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They made free eggs from their hens available It is located close to Long melford where there are plenty of interesting things to do and places to eat.
Beautiful location and surroundings, just a walk across the fields to pubs and cafes of Long Melford. Tastefully decorated. Friendly owner who greeted us upon arrival. Nice enclosed area outdoors where we had breakfast.
Food (both breakfast and evening meal) was very good and the menu imaginative. The staff were very pet-friendly and generally helpful – although perhaps a little out of practice after being furloughed for so long...
The Mill was amazing, spotlessly clean with a fantastic host, tea and coffee making facilities a small fridge. A short walk from the centre of Long Melford.
