Lovely homely stay. The hosts are really friendly and left jam and cream scones. The bed is lovely and comfy. We had a lovely relaxing stay! Beautiful scenery around the hut. With the lambs just outside. The stars on a clear night were amazing for any star gazers! We took microwave meals as there’s a microwave, kettle and mini fridge. The little touches are lovely.

The New Inn 1730, hotel in Long Marton

Boasting a garden and views of mountain, The New Inn 1730 is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Appleby, 20 km from Askham Hall.

A fabulous 2 night stay at The New Inn 1730. Breakfasts and evening meal were great with the added bonus of a Sunday roast that was scrummy. Room suited us perfectly as friends on a walking trip with a double bed in one part of the room and an additional room with the single bed and ensuite. Warm welcome from the host each time we saw him - thank you Laurie. We will definitely revisit in the future. Louise

A lovely comfortable pod in a great location . We were on-a bicycle tour and we appreciated the extra comfort it provided . Long Marton is a beautiful village in a wonderful area of Cumbria with characterful cottages and a pub . Appleby is close by too . Another town with character and history worth a visit, with lots of shops for everything you might need .

First experience of staying in a pod! Posh camping! Very cosy and comfortable. Beautiful location. Ate outside in the evening, luckily it was fine and dry. About a mile outside of the village. Very quiet, perfect spot to rest and relax after a day's walking. Carole very welcoming and helpful.
