OMG it was so cool and cute. I walked through the halls and it felt like I was living in the Merlin Tv show. I was soo happy with the general aesthetic of the place

The bedroom we had was a lovely size with a bath and shower. The bed was comfy, the bath filled quickly and the shower was hot and powerful.

Absolutely loved the down stairs room - perfect if you have a dog - French doors lead straight out to garden area - but rooms also available that are not dog friendly.
Staff fantastic- food fantastic - could not fault ! Would highly recommend!!!!

Mid-Wales area is very beautiful but there is very little 'sightseeing' in Llandovery. The Llandovery Castle ruin offers an historical perspective but beyond that I would say it is more of a base to explore other areas. Lovely welcoming people and the usual collection of coffee shops and craft outlets but very little else.
There is a good welcome at The Castle Hotel ideal for a meal, drinks, coffee and overnight accommodation. Penygawse is a local coffee shop that offers a good breakfast, cakes/coffees etc. and is welcoming to walkers and cyclists.
Beautiful place, definitely recommend, amazing host, was warm in our room quiet we enjoyed the stars and breakfast thoroughly, everything was above and beyond what we expected, tamar&family were outstanding as hosts made our time exploring amazing! Would definitely come back!

You must remember. Llandovery is a small market town. There are a few interesting shops. There are also a few hotels and plenty of places to eat. Fish and chip shop, Indian, chinese. A few good and quirky, charity shops as well. Also a lot of history attributed to Llandovery. It’s also near to other attractions, that are not too far away.

We only stayed one night as we had been to the Royal Show in Builth Wells so we didn’t get to see much of the town. What we did see was lovely and quaint. The town was very quiet but there were enough places to visit. It’s very easy to get around. The next time we will book a longer stay.
We stayed at the brilliant Kings Head Inn and although the private car park is small we managed to get a place. This meant we didn’t have to worry about parking fees etc. As the pub is in the centre of the town everything was near to hand. We also ate at the pub that has a good choice of pub grub even serving real boiled potatoes which is rare for a pub as most of them just serve chips of fries. I loved it here and can’t wait to go back it seemed the perfect chilled out location.

The only places to eat in the town at night are the pubs, don't try the only indian reataurant. There are teashops but not open in the evenings.

Llandovery is a lovely little town, we stayed a few miles out but used the railway station to visit Swansea, had a lovely Chinese from one of the two takeaways on offer, an amazing bakery which offers great coffee and hot pastries to takeaway also the Craft Centre offers a really good full Welsh breakfast, so much on offer in this lovely place.
There is also a good CO-OP that offers a great range of provisions you may need.
Lovely, old fashioned traditional pub B&B in the centre of Llandovery. Staff were very friendly and super efficient. Pub and restaurant area has a cosy vibe and dinner was tasty. We were staying while 'Sheep Festival' was on and Llandovery was pleasantly buzzing.
We travelled to Wales to walk on the Carmarthenshire Fans and The King's Head was a convenient and comfortable retreat at the end of a very long hike.
A superb stay in a really quiet location, great greeting by the host who showed us around, stunning views from every room, walks from the door and dog friendly, a really unique stay in this beautiful place, it's very old fashioned with modern touches, down a lane so off the main road but within a close drive to Llandovery for everything you might need.
Fabulous breakfasts, especially the fresh fruit and yogurt and the delicious locally sourced bacon. Location was convenient for exploring the Brecons and Black Mountains. Llandovery had a few good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Having lovely dressing gowns and Clarins toilettries in the bathroom gave it a luxurious feeling.
Set in a beautiful location with stunning walks along the River tywi ideally located 2 miles from llandovery and other attractions great for the grandchildren with a great hot tub the actual apartment was very cosy and clean and comfortable. The host liz was very helpful friendly and would definitely recommend 10 out of 10
Excellent location for exploring the area; off the beaten track but easy access to Llandovery for stocking up on basic supplies. Ideal for a quiet getaway with excellent walking and mountain biking close by. Rachel and Mark are lovely hosts and the attention to detail in the cottage is second to none. Will be going back!
I spent four nights in a well appointed, quiet and large room with an excellent shower. Mark and Karen were congenial hosts who were extremely attentive to my needs. Karen prepared a wonderful breakfast of my choice from her menu. The location is a great choice for exploring the interior of South Wales.
THe location was wonderful. Totally surrounded by rolling hills and forest. walks from door were exceptional. local town of LLandovery very nice and for those who like Rugby the the local team plays Saturday afternoons and great atmosphere! Would defo stay again. landlord couldnt be more helpful.
Warm welcome from host on arrival
The best sleep I’ve had in years incredibly comfortable & warm throughout.
Location is great for exploring the Brecons and surrounding areas.
Not many places to eat out but Llandovery has a few good pubs & cafes. We’d recommend the Bear for food.
Breakfast was ok, could have done with a little more variety eg: fruit selection, yoghurt.
Dinner was ok, could have done with a bigger menu choice.
The second room was good, larger with more draw/wardrobe space.
We stayed for a week so we needed the extra space for clothing etc.
I love that this pub with rooms is being run on a sustainable basis. The food is excellent (all vegetarian with vegan options), well kept beer, nice surroundings and above all friendly and welcoming. it’s a great place to stay in Llandovery on a budget.
Breakfast was wonderful as was the hospitality of the hosts. Location was perfect, with free private parking as well. I was visiting a retailer directly opposite the hotel so had the shortest commute to work ever!
Charming hotel with very friendly and professional staff. The breakfast was brilliant- made to order with quality ingredients. The friendly service at breakfast was one of the best I’ve had.
This dog-friendly accommodation was in a central location in Llandovery, and had a good room with adequate space. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again!
The location was secluded with easy access and a short drive to Llandovery.
A quiet location where you could easily relax, unwind and let the world pass by.
