Good
The swimming pool was set to a good temperature, warm enough to enjoy a long swim.
Sauna room was too large to get very hot but was still enough to create a sweat.
The gym was well equipped with lots of machines and space to workout.
Plenty of space in the car park
Bad
When we arrived 2 members of staff completely ignored us while we waited behind another customer. We had to wait for 10 minutes while the 2 members of staff continued to gossip and pretend there were issues on the computer to look at which quickly disappeared as soon as we began receiving service from a third member of staff. UNPROFESSIONAL! If you don't want to serve everyone that visits regardless of race don't work in the service industry. It's not slick nor clever and passive aggressive behaviour is ALWAYS noted.
The hotel is linked directly with a neighbouring pub and visitors of the pub can access the hotel unperturbed straight into the corridor by the rooms. In addition to this there are no peep holes on the doors of the family rooms. We were placed in room 6 on the ground floor which made us extremely uncomfortable and nervous. On both nights at approximately 12am and 12:30am I left the room to check my car in the carpark to find no one at the front desk and the entrance door unlocked. Major security risk with families based approx. 30m down the hall straight from the main entrance doors.
Room 6 was meh to say the least. Basic drab decoration. More a 3 star hotel than a 4 star.
Small selection at breakfast but was tasty enough.

The hotel has potential but is overpriced for what it offers. The Deluxe rooms should be just the standard offer and where not really worth the extra cost.
The food available in the bars was poor and in comparison to other local venues was not up to standard expected. The restaurant menu was overpriced again compared to local alternatives.
The breakfast in the morning was not worth the additional charge and a trip to any other local venue would have been cheaper and possibly warm.
The Spa was overcrowded to the point that parents with children where using the Sauna and Steam room as the pool was oversubscribed.
The bar was cold (due to the doors to the golf course being open) and was again over subscribed as the only alternative to the formal dining area. The alternative bar, which was quieter seemed to close really early meaning an early night for guests sat in there.
Overall the hotel needs a bit of upgrading, the Deluxe Rooms should be seen as standard as compared to other hotels in lower price points that what they are. Other rooms we saw during our stay would definitely not be worth the price, especially in proximity to other hotels in birmingham or the premier Inn's offer.
A bit disappointed with the offer and the hotel gave off the "sweating an asset" vibe.

Our room was very dated.
Our room was very dated. Furniture scuffed, only one bedside light which didn’t work and toilet roll holder broken. Bathroom very dated.
Lovely large super king bed which was very comfortable. Not all rooms are same standard as other guests remarked theirs were more modern but as was only an overnight stay for a wedding, we did not complain. The wedding was superb, the decoration and wedding breakfast food excellent.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice pool area very clean.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice pool area very clean. Could just do with updating the changing rooms as some of the lockers don’t work and it’s a bit run down, the room was lovely but the wardrobe/drawers very old and need updating
The hotel cancelled my booking 2 hours before check in offering another hotel nearly an hour away. I am a disabled customer and they were totally unsympathetic. Cost me 3 times as much to book another local accessible hotel at such short notice. Had to cut my trip short as couldn't afford to book more than 1 night . No proper explanation of why given and staff couldn't care that they had left a wheelchair user with no where to stay when 4 hours away from home. Will never book here again.
The spacious rooms and hotel layout. Sam had responded to our requests as a family group and Ellie and the team took great care of us making our time together very special. It was well staffed and despite being a very busy weekend there was a very calm, efficient atmosphere around the hotel. The Afternoon Tea was good value.
It was our wedding anniversary and the hotel did a decorated plate for our room. To top it off we went swimming and came back to surprise bottle of prosecco. Rachel from reception
Vivek and Mirdo made our time extra special. very approachable always smiling they are a credit to the hotel.
Great facilities i.e sauna, steam room and pool
The golfing range was fab
Hathaway's pub served great food
The hotel was kind enough to upgrade our room at no extra charge for my husband's 50th birthday.
We loved everything about our stay we will definitely book to stay again.
the location of this hotel is lovely it is easy to find all the staff were so helpful and so polite our room was clean the food was exceptional really enjoyed my short break there wish I could have stayed longer because there is lots to do and feel like I didn’t explore properly
The hotel room was a little tired and dated, particularly the bathroom. However, absolutely no issues with the functionality or cleanliness.
Very impressed with the breakfast. Hot food was freshly cooked, of high quality and with a good range of items.
we absolutely loved the location on the hotel, very remote and private. the room was a nice size for a couple and the bed was very comfy.
staff upon arrival were very friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was "OK"; Leisure facilities were "OK"... Sauna and Steam room were bigger than others that we have been in. Had a decent size Samsung TV in the room.
The staff was super friendly but there was a few issues I had at the hotel and no one really seemed to care. That was a little disheartening and disappointing.
