The Wellington Hotel, hotel in Lanteglos

In picturesque Boscastle, on the North Cornwall Coast, The Wellington Hotel features an award-winning restaurant and real ale bar. The historical building offers cosy log fires and scenic views.

Staff wereexceptional. Friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was large and very clean. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of chaoice. As one of us has chronic kidney failure the diet is restricted to the 'continental' choices which were tasty, fresh and varied. The cooked breakfast was also excellent.

A lovely friendly place to stay from the moment we arrived to when we left. The food was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection and the "proper" chips were lush. Breakfast was great as well.

Villa was close to car park.

Villa was close to car park. The owner has included some homely touches including DVDs. Villa was unfortunately very damp on arrival and stayed damp all week, in spite of dry weather and open windows. No dehumidifier in property despite claims there was one. TV and mobile phone signals rarely worked in the villa. Unable to use on-site WIFI as it will crash the system according to accommodation notes. (we tried to connect to let the children play a game but it wouldn't work anyway!) Launderette only has 1 working washing machine and 1 dryer for the whole site to use. Hotel is closed and run down so no facilities available except the pool which was believed to not be heated. Cooker and hob not working or not marked so it is guesswork to use. Not many shops and restaurants locally and we had to drive some distance to find somewhere to shop and eat. You are very reliant on your car staying here as it is not very near to anywhere. A good place to be if you wanted to have a very relaxing reading holiday with little TV and no phone signal, no internet and nowhere you need to go though.
