The Racehorses Hotel, hotel in Kettlewell

Set in Kettlewell, 45 km from Ripley Castle, The Racehorses Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

Lovely old stone hotel right in the heart of the beautiful village of Kettlewell. Kevin and the team really were were genuinely friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. The room was nice and very well furnished. The little touches impressed us - swiss chocolates and high quality biscuits in the room along with twinings tea and decent instant coffee. Decent speed free wifi to the rooms. Good quality towels, soap products and bed linen. They service the rooms every day too. The breakfast menu is nice and varied, there's great fresh coffee, juices and various cereals plus quite a long list of cooked options from a full cooked breakfast to lighter options - we stayed for three nights and tried most of the breakfast menu between us - we weren't dissapointed. We had dinner and drinks the first night - they have a talented Indian chef so as well as more traditional pub/hotel dishes they do amazing curries with rice, paratha and indian salad. They have a wide range of drinks, my wife enjoyed the great wine list and I enjoyed the range of beers including a few alcohol free options when I had to drive. There's free car parking round the back plus a beer garden with the river running right alongside, perfect for a pre-dinner drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend - the range of walks locally including Malham Tarn, Malham Cove and so on are amazing - we were agog at how beautiful the scenery was when driving around the area - and unlike other national parks the walls either side of you are low or there's a wire fence instead and so you get an unobstructed view of the amazing Yorkshire Dales as you travel around rather than just staring at stone walls the height of your car.

The room was lovely, the leisure was ideal for me as I am a swimmer and often find pools too small to get a good session in, this one was great. Finally, the staff, everyone was absolutely delightful, chatty, friendly and helpful, I feel they are definitely your best asset.

Fantastic traditional Yorkshire Inn in an idyllic setting next to the River Wharfe. Great beer, great food (especially the award winning pies made by the lovely Sarah) and a pub atmosphere that you will not find anywhere else, created by the ever-entertaining owner and landlord Ed. We shall be back!!!

Kettlewell is a pretty village ideally situated for walking in Wharfdale. It was quiet when we visited but, given its popularity for walkers, it is worth booking a hotel with parking as part of the deal.

Love Kettlewell, been quite a few times. There are lovely walks and the village is picturesque. Beautiful cottages to rent and the Bluebell Inn is fabulous to stay and eat. One of the best things about the Bluebell is that they allow pets too.

A beautiful and picturesque village in the Dales which surrounds Kettlewell. People are friendly and made us feel welcome. It has 3 pubs and food at The Racehorse Hotel was tasty. There’s also a tearoom offering food to eat in an outside area plus take away food too.

Kettlewell is a beautiful place and has lots of beautiful places to visit near by. Really enjoyed the Sheepdog exhibition just up the road, £5.00 for nearly 3 hours of fascinating entertainment. What would I avoid on my next visit? The Blue Bell Inn.

Kettlewell is in a lovely location in upper Wharfedale, the scenery is stunning with some excellent circular walks from the village. The walk over to Arncliffe and back isn't too difficult and is well worth the effort and once there you get to have a pint in a cracking little pub called the Falcon. If your feeling a bit more energetic the walk up to the summit of Great Whernside is well worth the effort and you will have definitely earned a pint, or two, when you get back.

Absolutely loved our stay at this cottage - what a fabulous location! Our kids (aged 9 and 13) loved paddling in the river next to the house, there are so many lovely walks from the door and it’s a short stroll into the centre of Kettlewell, which is a delightful village with two good pubs serving decent food. The house itself has private parking by the door, which is invaluable in such a popular village. We also loved the fact it was at the top of the village, out of the main hustle and bustle and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We had a great stay at this place. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and they gave us a lot of info on the surrounding places (where to eat, where to hike, etc.). The breakfast they made for us was also very good! The room was spacious enough, and the beds were comfortable. We also had a great view of the hills. The location was also amazing, with Kettlewell being located in between hills, offering many hiking opportunities and great views. Overal we had a very nice time at this place.

Lovely old house in a perfect location. Kettlewell is a delight with cosy local pubs. Great views. The house is really spacious so it’s great for a large group without people falling over each other. The games room is brilliant and large and comfy! Kitchen has everything you need. We were a group ranging from 0 to 80 years and the house was suitable for kids and adults alike. Communication and information from the hosts was faultless. It was all very easy.

The location is outstanding. It is close to many great walking trails and absolutely awesome views. It is across the narrow road from 2 excellent restaurants and pubs. The hosts are incredibly nice people, and the breakfast was great. They were very knowledgeable about the area and make great suggestions on what to do and see each day. I highly recommend this place to anyone. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here including the hospitality.

We've stayed in Kettlewell a number of times previously and familiar with the area - very beautiful place with great walks and pubs for a drink. The accommodation was outstanding. Recently fully refurbished with fixtures and fittings completed to a very high standard. Location and parking spot on as in the centre of Kettlewell with off-street parking. 100%, highly recommended.

It was lovely to meet Lucy, our host, who kept in touch to make sure everything was ok. No urgency to check out and Lucy suggested we could leave our car parked if we wanted to enjoy Kettlewell for the day. Comfortable, charming accommodation with stunning views at the front of the house and the sound of Kettlewell beck flowing at the back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I have been isolating for the last 17 months and working from home, due to having a kidney transplant in December. The staff helped by putting in the quieter areas in the hotel so we could social distance when having meals. The hotel location is very good.
