Satis House Hotel, hotel in Kelsale

Set in an 18th-century, grade II listed building, the Satis House Hotel has 3 acres of parklands and is located just off the A12. Free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking are available.

Breakfast was very good. Decor of main house was very good, a bit dark & gloomy though. Staffing issues. Owners seemed to lack interest. The lady that was possibly the main cook was very friendly but had a very scruffy appearance & smelt heavily of cigarettes. A beautiful property, but not run efficiently. Signage was very poor & the owner agreed that Sat Nav instructions were very unclear. The Hotel should give prior warning of this & give specific directions.

Great accommodation, clean and modern. Excellent location for exploring Aldeburgh, Southwold, and everywhere in between. Sandra and Steve were very welcoming hosts. The Poacher's Pocket pub in Saxmundham is definitely worth a visit as is Orford Ness nature reserve. A great first trip to Suffolk!

Kelsale is near Saxmundham which has a Waitrose and a Tesco so very handy for shopping. Kelsale is very convenient for the Suffolk coast - we visited Lowestoft, Dunwich, Orford, Southwold and Aldeburgh. Favourite spots were Minsmere and Orford. Favourite meals were eaten in Orford and Southwold.

Very pretty and I’m sure it is normally pretty quiet (we had diggers going past all week due to building somewhere) Seemed very central for beaches and countryside and lots of history nearby. Social club had free WiFi you could use.

Loved the accommodation, had everything that you needed and an ideal base for visiting local areas. Best places to visit are Sizewell Beach, Thorpness, Woodbridge, ALdebrough. You do need a car to get to places. Sizewell and parts of Albrough, Thorpness are dog friendly.
