The staff were friendly and generally efficient. The breakfast was very good. We had one small issue with the temperature of our water but that was sorted out by a very helpful and friendly maintenance man.

Holywood's an affluent town on the coast, close to Belfast City Airport. The town has some great bars and restaurants and being coastal means there's lovely walks to nearby towns and villages.

Beautiful beach walk a few minutes from our guest house. Lovely shops in the high street with a few cafes and resutarants to choose from.. Close to the Folk and Transport Museum. Only 20 minutes drive from Belfast City Centre one direction and half an hour from Bangor the other direction. Not sure about local transport as we had the car. Indian Ocean Restuarant was excellent.

Comfortable and we welcoming I wanted a good night's rest before travelling onwards. My sat nav took me to another house up the street instead of to the hotel. The staff have information about getting alternative food deliveries and can provide good quality snacks. I had a good quiet stay.

Hollywood is a good location, near to both Belfast and Bangor for those travelling along the coastline. The choice of shops is good, particularly for tea/coffee and breakfast in the mornings. The Dirty Duck is a great location for a drink or a bite to eat too. There’s a train station which seems to have a fairly regular service in either direction too. The view across the lough is stunning on a clear day. Peaceful, calm atmosphere in town. We enjoyed it.
The house is lovely and very tastefully decorated. We arrived early just to drop off our luggage but Tim invited us to stay for coffee or tea and biscuits, giving us a chance to catch our breath and chat a bit with Tim. Our room was spacious with a view of the garden and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We were able to drive to a nearby metro and get into Belfast in 20 minutes with the bother of driving a car around a big city (and on the other side of the road).
The property is a lovely little 2 bedroom terraced house, only 5 minutes walk from m the centre of Holywood. The host had very kindle provided bread, butter, milk and various condiments, as well as tea and coffee. Although not used, there is a nice little yard at the rear with a table and chairs if you want to sit outside. Although the house fronts directly onto the street, it's a quiet street with little through traffic and few pedestrians.
I had a great stay at Downshire Haven, the property was bigger than I expected (it was really nice having 2 floors). Great location near the station and the high street. There were plenty of towels, blankets, all the kitchen essentials so self catering was very easy. I was staying in Holywood for a 10 day yoga course and it was perfect for what I needed, thank you!
We had a lovely welcome and the room we had was just perfect. Our view was lovely and the little ‘touches’ such as the opportunity to purchase a bottle of wine added to the experience.
A very comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep. Bathroom facilities also good.
The breakfast was worth visiting this hotel for.
Would love to return.
We had a great stay at Alison's BnB - Avoca farm is a great value, Belfast is a quick drive, and Alison is a wonderful host! A loaf of soda bread just out of the oven was waiting for us, along with some fresh eggs and yogurt for breakfast. Everything was very clean, and there was a nice enclosed garden area for our dog to explore.
Beautiful quiet area, lovely garden, very nice, fresh food. You can choose from nice food selection. Irish breakfast is perfect, the house is clean. Tim is very friendly and helpful, we loved every minutes in Gweebarra. Next time, if we will go to Belfast , I will go to Tim`s B&B again.
The location is excellent. Positioned mid way between Holywood, Belfast and the City of Bangor. Lovely location with plenty of fresh county air. Comfy bed and cosy place to stay. Plenty of parking and excellent snacks and soda bread available upon arrival. Highly recommended.
Lovely little house, steps away from the centre of Holywood and easy walking distance to the train station.
Very clean, new furnishings and very bright. Would love to come back.
Great contact with the hosts, many thanks!
We loved it as a base for close to family. Great location for us, central Holywood, beautifully decorated and lovely attention to detail, basic items bought in, and white co products for use. Perfect for what we wanted.
Location & facilities. The location is great for everything Holywood; moments from the high street, a couple of minutes from the station, yet quiet. There’s everything you need for a comfortable stay in the property.
Great location, clean and tidy with good amenities. Nice and quiet with easy access to Holywood town centre and the train station. Good communication from the owner before and during our stay which was reassuring.
having the option to leave the car parked and take the train into Belfast was one of the biggest selling points for us. Holywood ended up exceeding our expectations and the accommodations were perfect
Beautiful spacious rooms with character,
short walk to the beach to watch the sunset over the laugh,
convenient drive to Belfast,
and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Tim.
Perfect place to be five minutes from the sea and 15 minutes out of Belfast. Loved the nearest town Holywood and Alison and Peter were excellent hosts!!
