Set in beautiful grounds with view of the lake. We had the four poster bedroom with bath in the bay window. We also had a balcony overlooking the grounds.

Highworth is a lovely small market town with lots of interesting history. It has a very useful visitor centre with a small museum. The surrounding area is beautiful with a lot of ancient historical monuments and sites within easy reach. The cotswolds are on the doorstep and it is an easy trip to Bath.

Loved the location and fantastic food.
Loved the location and fantastic food. Room quite tired and could do with comfier beds. Great value for money. Met some friendly locals full of knowledge of the town's history including the tunnels that go under the town from every pub to the church. There's even an original door to it in the cellar bar a few doors down from the Saracen. We are vegetarians but even I was tempted with the food on offer in andd outside the local butchers and the Saturday market was a pleasure to walk round.
The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was very good, freshly made and big portions, very good value for money we paid. The room we stayed in it was a triple room, good size. I did not expect luxury for the money I have paid, just a clean, comfortable and decent room. Unfortunately I was let down badly when I got there and seen the state of the hotel/pub. Everything is dated and in a massive need of refurbishment. I would gladly enjoy a drink in their back garden but would not use the accommodation services again.
I had stayed at the Saracens hotel for a get away with my partner as we was going to the Cotswold zoo which was around 25-30 minutes from the hotel. Saracens hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful to tell us how to get into Swindon as we was going to the town center for a cocktails.. the garden area at the hotel was very nice we had sat out in the cobble stone area in the evening for drinks but in the inside area they have tv which was showing the cricket and other sport events.
We chose to have dinner in the hotel - opting for ham, egg and chips and scampi and chips. This was very good quality at a reasonable price.
The free WiFi worked well.
The room was very warm even in the cold weather.
The location was good for a football match at Swindon where Wimbledon were visiting (about 5 miles away).
lovely veggie breakfast, nice cosy room hot shower, cosy bed nice view highworth very nice , both bars where good with arkells bitter ,everyone was helpful , and we were lucky with the weather , lovely weekend
