We stopped here for one night, to go to a wedding nearby. The place had everything we could have needed, with an especially comfortable bed and a lovely powerful shower. There village was also lovely but we didn't get the chance to have a proper explore. The host was super lovely, whilst the house is connected, there is a good separation for the annex that we stayed in and we didn't hear anything through the walls etc.

Fantastic location with elegant and well furnished country house hotel. We stayed in a junior suite that accommodated two adults and our two-year old well. Lovely dinner on arrival where we were attended by a charming waiter and my partner was even able to converse with him in her native Spanish.

The old Forge is an old building but very well maintained and we were very comfortable . We appreciated our host's generosity and the delicious cooked breakfast.
We were the only guests there as the hosts had to leave the next morning so had not taken more bookings. In deference to our early booking and the fact we were from Australia and possibly in the middle of our trip, they let our booking stand. We really appreciated this.
A real positive for this accommodation is that there is parking at the premises, and it is free. (Often "parking available " means paid parking in a council car park.)

Clare is the best host! The room is nice and cozy. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. Love the horses, chickens, ducks, hares, goose and 5 new born wild goslings.

A lovely little rural village with good local pub just a few minutes walking distance from the property, plus an interesting boutique cafe where you can order lunch food to take away. We were about half an hour from the Bluebell Railway and Sheffield Park National Trust Gardens and the same distance from Beachy Head and Eastbourne. So perfect for all the places we wanted to go.
