Lovely old pub with loads of character and a very warm welcome from our host. Delicious food well presented and excellent local wines. We had room 2 which exceeded our expectations with a four poster bed and glorious views, we will definitely stay again in the future.

This 17th-century Manor House is in stunning grounds overlooking Stroud Water Canal and the hills of the Stroud Valley. It has an award-winning restaurant, and routes for cycling and walking.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Stonehouse Court Hotel. We had a lovely room overlooking the grounds and while we were there we enjoyed great food and beautiful walks beside the river. All the staff were amazing and went out of their way to make our stay special.

Malt House, hotel in Dursley

This family-run hotel and restaurant in the heart of the Cotswold Hills is close to Berkeley Castle, the Jenner Museum, the Wet Lands Trust and Slimbridge Severn Way Boasting a warm and welcoming atm...

This is a fantastic inn and Wendy and her team could not have made us more welcome. The food was delicious and it didn't matter that they do not usually do dinner on Sunday or Bank Holiday as Wendy cooked just for us one evening and brought us plates for our picnic on the other. Highly recommended!

Stinchcombe Hill (which is actually where our accommodation...

Stinchcombe Hill (which is actually where our accommodation was) has easy access to Dursley, down a steep hill which leads directly into the town centre. Dursley itself has a good range of shops, cafes and supermarkets and is a pleasant little place in lovely surroundings. There are walks from the door of Hilltop Cottage directly onto the Cotswold Way with fab views from the Cotswold escarpment out to the Severn and beyond to Wales. We had a lovely walk at Woodchester Park (NT), walked up Cam Peak and Cam Long Down, did the circular walk around Stinchcombe Hill golf course (3 miles, beautiful views all round) from the door. Would recommend walking from North Nibley to Wotton Hill and back and also a visit to Newark Park (NT) at the head of the beautiful Ozleworth valley. We visited The Wild Place Project in Bristol with the children and my young nephew which was great. We had a brilliant cafe lunch at Woodruffs Cafe in Stroud (mainly veggie and REALLY good) and another good (more expensive) lunch at The Olive Tree in Nailsworth. The Farm Shop in Wotton is also worth a visit for fairly expensive but tasty provisions. Also worth a visit are Berkeley Castle and Slimbridge, Longleat and Bristol Zoo as well as Bath, Bristol, Gloucester (especially the cathedral) and Cheltenham.
