We managed to book not long before we arrived and we chose it because of the late check in. It was great that the pub was able to accommodate us at such short notice. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast was really good.

Great location overlooking harbour. Above The Ship pub. Staff helpful and friendly both at the location and the pub (note you can’t check in through the pub). Room was spotless and very comfortable. Would stay again.

Everything was great from check in to check out. Will definitely arrange another golf trip next year and stay at Marshall Meadows again.
Friendly people,nice atmosphere.
It was during covid period, but during this time visited york, durham,Edinburgh and Berwick and dunns and would have to say Dunns seemed to be doing just as good a job as the other areas in making you feel welcome.

We were only there for a wedding so spent little to no time in the area. Location was pleasant enough, very rural. The hotel arranged taxis for us to and from the wedding which was great and they were on time.

I am very biased as I lived and worked in Duns for 4 years in fact I was married to a local girl in Duns church. It is a small friendly town and welcomes a large number of visitors. On this occasion we visited friends who were have kept in contact with over a number of years.

We chose Duns because of the Jim Clarke museum and had no preconceptions of the town. At first it seemed rather tired and run down but improved over the 5 days we stayed there. I walked the dog a lot so got to know the town fairly well. Lovely park, good walking near Duns castle and friendly people. We ate at the Black Bull, a friendly pub with good food reasonably priced and friendly locals.
Other places of interest are easily accessible and the countryside around is lovely.

lovely quaint wee town, very friendly people!
lovely quaint wee town, very friendly people! Nice choice of coffee shops considering it's a rather small place also nice to support small family businesses! Lots of places of interest in and around the town also lots of places to visit a short drive away!! I'd recommend the bistro for lunch, very covid friendly with everything made fresh to order, nice choice of menu and the coronation chicken was really tasty!

Duns is very quite good base to explore nearby places St Abbs lovely coastal walk. Eyemouth historic fishing village Berwick upon tweed fabulous place great walk round the walls of the city . All within a 30min drive from Duns.
Old hotel right in the centre of Duns, on site parking, great cask ales and good food, bedrooms are clean and well serviced.
Pamela and her staff run a very friendly Hotel, nothing is too much for them, all in all a very enjoyable stay.
Good tourist attractions in the area, for motorsports fans the Jim Clark museum is a must visit attraction, grand stately homes and interesting historical ruins surround this area all with great walks.
Very conveniently located in the middle of the charming town of Duns, ideal for my business meetings. Very friendly staff and locals in the bar. ExcEllen food and beer. First experience of haggis for breakfast - delicious accompaniment to the 'standard' breakfast which was well above standard. Convenient free parking. Happy to recommend.
The fabric of this hotel is a bit tired and shabby but the staff are friendly, the room is comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. For low cost night accommodation I think this hotel does well. It is also nice to support local and traditional rather than big commercial branded outlets.
The tranquil and remote location was ideal for us. We could walk from the house into the beautiful countryside nearby, but we could also drive to Berwick on Tweed or nearby Duns. Ideal for peace and quiet, but not too far from civilisation!
The breakfasts were excellent and as we had previously lived in Duns we were fully aware of the location. In all a very enjoyable experience and will certainly stay at the Black Bull again.
A very welcoming hotel with great staff, a lovely location in central Duns and convenient parking. The food was very good and there was a selection of local ales on offer in the bar.
Very close to the city center. Good Breakfast. Possibility of Dinner in the hotel. (good fish and chips, beer and a wharm fireplace). Very pleasent personnel.
