The food was delicious, staff pleasant, we did the NC500 and this was the dearest hotel on our 11 hotel and B&B stays. Our thoughts on the price compared to all the others was over priced.

Great quiet wee village in an excellent location close to Eilean Donan castle. Take a walk up Carr Brae which is behind the hotel to get a beautiful elevated view of the castle and it's island. From Dornie it's a short drive to Kyle of Lochalsh and the bridge over to Skye. The Gavin Maxwell museum can be accessed from the bridge.

It's an old, dated hotel witch neads a make over.
It's an old, dated hotel witch neads a make over. The location is beautiful. We asked for another room beacause the bed was to low to sleep in. We got another room. The bed was beter. There was a tv, so small, like a poststamp, didn't work. The reception was nog there. There was a cooker to make tea. There were wires hanging all over the tv. There was only one bedlight and the normal light. The bathroom was very dated. All in all, I wouldn't let my biggest enemy sleep there, horrible!

Lovely property inside perfect for our stay, big decked area outside with amazing views perfect to relax after a busy day exploring. On the doorstep of Eilean Donan castle and lovely walks around the lochs. Would be helpful to have some basic directions and a photo of the property as it’s a wooden construction and looks like it’s part of the other property on the site, the house sign is not very visible from the road side.
Didn’t cook so can’t comment on kitchen and functionality. Good size FF. The Clachan pub, a 10 min walk over the bridge is great place to eat but only one of two in the village (didn’t try the other ) so need to book in advance. There is a takeaway coffee and bakery not open every day, and another by the campsite that also does pizza and a takeaway at the castle. Check opening hours though and websites not all updated. All in walking distance of the property. The shop in the village is closed so need to make sure you have essentials with you.

Although in tier 2 of COVID restrictions when we visited all facilities including hotel, and village pub were closed meaning a 3 mile trip to the nearest shop.
Was informed by a local that the pub and restaurant would be open in a couple of weeks.

Dornie is perfectly located for exploring Skye and getting to Plockton and Applecross too. The cafe at Eilean Donan castle does a great lunch and the Fairy bakery and Jo’s pizzas is a must for a unique place to visit!
