Not one for negative reviews but this place was the pits! So I arrived in the ‘car park’ which was some run down garages. After parking I witnessed a couple of lads in a bmw doing a drug deal. Thought I’d wait to go in until they left… on entering reception/the pub I thought I’d walked in on a scene in shameless. I looked around for Frank Gallagher passed out on the floor.. no luck. I headed to the bar to check in. Some blonde bird was screaming and shouting on the phone arguing with her fella to my left. Anyway carried on waiting.. she’s then shouting to what must be the landlady ‘I love your tits’. Eventually the landlady gives me my key and some bloke at the bar shows me to my room. Heading upstairs all I could see was cracks in the walls and the place falling apart. Gets in my room sat down. Next thing there’s commotion outside. Look out the window and there’s a group of people and cars in the road. 2 women proceed to fight each other, couple of fellas standing round like lemons. Cars blocking the road whilst one pulls the other’s hair. On a positive the room had a kettle and complimentary biscuits etc so I made a tea and watched the drama outside. Once that all finished, I heard music getting louder from the pub. I nipped down and the place was packed with pissed up locals. Thought great going to sleep well here. Went back up and luckily I was second floor up so got a few hours. Tbf the bathroom was relatively ‘modern’ minus the mouldy bits round the edges. Left and couple other guests looked traumatised running out of the place. If there’s one thing I learnt is you pay for what you get!! I was smug thinking I’d got a good deal for a hotel whilst my friends staying in Bath were paying £200+ for theirs. Anyway if you want any advice I’d say knock the place down, awful!

Stayed April 6/7. Room was lovely, spotlessly clean, quiet despite being on the back of a pub. King size bed was very comfy, lovely linen. Tea and coffee in the room. The highlight was the breakfast, cooked by one of the sisters (apologies I can’t remember your name) and was outstanding.
Could not fault the place. Lovely open fires, the menu had a lot of choices including vegetarian. Nothing was too much trouble and they even sorted some soya milk for my sister as she cannot have normal milk.off the beaten track but lovely n quiet with a walking trail. An overall lovely stay

Size of the room and bathroom with the style of the bed.
Size of the room and bathroom with the style of the bed. We visited Bristol and Bath, the location was ok for both of these places. We ate at the hotel. Some of the roads are narrow for one car at a time and quite bendy sometimes otherwise it’s a nice green tree lined route.

Lovely rural location, peaceful and relaxing.
Lovely rural location, peaceful and relaxing.
It is a perfect location for attending a wedding at Priston Mill.
Within easy reach of Bristol, Bath and Wells, opportunity for country walks, horse riding etc.
Lovely chippy in the village and variety of pub/restaurants all close by, definitely need your own transport as limited bus services.
Everything could not of been better, from the staff to food ,the room & of course the drink . Staff always willing to help. The food was fantastic ( you just have to try one of the oggies ), we used to stay over at the hotel 20 yrs ago & alway remembered it as a nice place so thought we would get away for the day & try it again, although it was a long time ago nothing has changed it is as good now as we remembered it back then. A really lovely place with everything to match from the people to the food.
Located in a very quiet part of the countryside this hotel met our requirements for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the Hunters Rest served excellent food and had a good selection of drinks available. The room up one set of stairs was very clean and although the one window over looked the lane to the property there was very little traffic and we slept through the night with no disturbance at all. Excellent stay and would recommend.
We booked the hotel for a visit to nearby Bath, as we couldn't get anything in town with guaranteed parking facilities.
Overall it was a pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was excellent - much better even than in some more expensive places. And the cosy, pub-like hotel restaurant offered good food.
A really nice place to stay, I was welcomed in a friendly but professional way…. Even thou I arrived just before midnight. Wish I had more days to stay.
Also it’s not that far out from Bristol, well worth the 15 minutes drive.
Highly recommended this place, if you can book the master bedroom overlooking the fields.
Lisa, the host is fantastic, very warm and welcoming and lovely to chat to. my stay was great, the room is very comfortable and has the same little extra you’d find in a hotel. the house is located in the lovely countryside and easy to find with plenty of parking.
my daughter loved the location of the hotel and the staff, the room was spacious and very clean. The food was lovely and hot, with a good Varity. we would love to use this hotel again, if their was availability when they come to visit.
The Breakfast and all meals we all hot and plenty of choice. You couldn't ask for better helpful staff. Was a joy to stay in and 100% recommend this hotel . i will be using this hotel again on future work trips
This is a country pub and I guess met my needs.
I think I was expecting more of a hotel cum pub - so really not the proprietor's fault if I was not too enthusiastic. .
The hotel was excellent from beginning to end. The room was of a reasonable size, with a delightful outlook over the countryside and a really good shower in the bathroom.
