Quality of cooking. Friendly staff who were mostly very efficient. Comfortable seating areas. Newspapers (on some days). We were given a room upgrade. The room was large and the bed comfortable.

Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales.
Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales. It is an Ideal base for country walks and mountain walks. You can easily access the remote areas of the dales where you would not see another person all day long. I might regret having said that

Lovely place in the middle of the countryside about 20 miles due East(ish) of Lancaster. Small, quite sleepy village about 1 mile from the station which provides connections to Lancaster and Leeds (and more places I'm sure!). Safe and friendly with nice river flowing through it.

Clapham is a beautiful village. We went beginning of July. It was so quiet. I suspect in high tourist season it can be busy but during our stay Covid restrictions were still in place so no oversees visitors. Clapham has no nightlife so if that's what you want this us not the place to stay. If you want an evening stroll in a pretty little village this is beautiful place.
Clapham is the entry point to the Farrer trail that takes you to Ingleborough cave and beyond - beautiful!

Clapham is a very interesting, beautiful village on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Lots to see in the village, but Covid restrictions meant some of the little cafes and shops were closed. Lots of old buildings to admire and the village 'improvements' made by the Farrer family are worth investigating.
The staff are really nice and friendly. The hotel is refurbished to a good standard and is spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food is very good quality. The hotel is very welcoming of dogs, and permits guests to eat in the bar area for dinner and breakfast with the dog in tow, which was very appreciated. Clapham is a great location, with good walks on the doorsteps and its a beautiful village. Would definitely stay again.
Fantastic hotel, in the lovely village of Clapham. Great outdoor seating area for drinks and meals in the sun. The bedrooms were immaculately clean. The restaurant food was superb. We had garlic and Stilton mushrooms and fish cakes for starters then chicken and belly pork for mains, all excellent. Kids had burgers which were fantastic followed by sticky toffee puddings, which was one of the best.
Everything. The location in Clapham village is picturesque The New Inn is full of charm and is very comfortable. The staff are amazing and nothing was too much trouble.
It's dog friendly too , the can go wherever you go while staying there.
It's great value for money and the food is delicious.
The hotel was lovely. Great decor. Great atmosphere. The staff were really friendly. The room was very comfortable with an excellent selection on the tea tray. The evening meal I had was exceptional and the breakfast selection and quality excellent. I will definitely return.
Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere in the hotel bar, great location for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and a comfortable room for us to stay in. Takeaway breakfast on offer for people setting off earlier.
Very good pub in the Yorkshire Dales. Clapham is an excellent place to stay if you want to get out into the countryside. Food good and staff were very welcoming.
Cosy cottage with everything we needed. Perfect location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Hosts very welcoming and left us a lovely welcome pack of goodies.
