    · We came up to the Scottish Borders for a Keilder observatory event and stayed in Chesters at The Steadings cottage for two nights with our 3 children 10, 2 and newborn. It was a beautiful, peaceful location. Huge garden to explore. Our children really enjoyed meeting the dogs, horse, sheep and chickens and we enjoyed relaxing in the sun loungers on the patio. Games room with pool, table tennis and darts. Big trampoline. Fresh eggs from the chickens on arrival. Ros the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommended for couples with young children. Kitchen excellently equipped, great travel cot

From start to finish we loved our stay at the steadings.

From start to finish we loved our stay at the steadings. Ros was extremely accommodating and really took good care of us. The cottage is beautiful and everything is of a high standard. Beds are very comfortable, lovely towels and each room smells gorgeous. I could have happily stayed longer. Even the hens were lovely and my son was very excited to give them a stroke.

Was at Chesters for a friend's wedding in nearby Hawick, didn't get to spend much time exploring or as many walks as we would have liked due to time constraints and the wedding, however a beautiful place and will definitely be back!
