Gorgeous property with wonderful staff throughout. Our room was in one of the converted cottages, beautifully done and we even had an Easter egg left as a gift as it was over Easter weekend. Everywhere was spotless and well presented, food and drink exceptional, perfect place for a romantic getaway.

The apartment was bright, modern and chicly furnished. The internet was very good, an Alexa was available and the ponies next door not only put our daughter in a good mood. Especially great was the opportunity to make a campfire and grill marshmellows.

Friendlness of all staff especially the owner/ licencee Simon who went beyond expectations when we had troubles locating a taxi to take us to a RAF reunion.

Just minutes from junction 18 of the M4, Cross Hands Hotel is a charming 14th-century posting house with a pub and restaurant, in the heart of the Gloucester countryside.
The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip.
The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip. We stayed in one of the cottages which was renovated to and excellent standard maintaining original features. The gardens are interesting. I declined to be shown to the cottage but would recommend being taken to the one given as the allocated one was not obvious.

The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself.
The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself. It is a short drive away from Castle Combe up a very narrow one track road. The hotel is wonderful and we had a great dinner meal there. Not so fussed about breakfast. We did not want a cooked breakfast and the breakfast bar itself could have been improved.

One of my favourite locations in all of the UK, I have not been back in 29 years and the village has lost no charm at all.
Hot chocolate and cake from a friendly gentleman in the village was perfect on the wet day that we visited.

I loved Castle Combe.
I loved Castle Combe. It’s a really picturesque town great for photos. If you’re there for longer than a couple of hours then the walking tracks surrounding the town are exceptional, especially during autumn. So many amazing walking trails and leafy pathways and wild blackberries all along the tracks. I spent ages just walking around. It’s even nice to just sit under a tree in front of the Manor with a book.
If you plan on taking public transport then make sure you plan getting there and leaving carefully. Public transport didn’t run there on the day I planned to go so I had to take an Uber there, but then getting an Uber out of the town is not an option (unless you’re very lucky). So just don’t take an Uber into the town on a Sunday if you’re also planning on leaving on Sunday or you might find yourself stranded.
There are buses that come but only a couple a day, and some are a bit of a distance from the city centre and you’re likely to lose phone reception if you try and walk to those stops.. so plan ahead wisely. But there should be a bus that comes right to the city centre- just don’t miss it!
P.S If you go for a walk outside of the main town make sure to find the Hollow! The little fairy house hidden in a log, inside it you’ll find a book where you can sign your name :)

Beautiful village.
Beautiful village.
I loved every minute of my stay however, 1 day is more than enough to explore the whole village.
The bridge, church and Manor house is a must see.
Foot at Castle inn was amazing.
Parking is available but public car park is some distance away.
I cannot fault this beautiful village.
Perfect location as a base for exploring the southern parts of the Cotswolds. This cozy spot is just a five minute drive from the stunning village of Castle Combe.
The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. We also had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The entire staff team was very friendly, and happy to help with any request.
Would happily return to stay again and recommend to others.
Stunning unspoiled location, linked with The Manor House (they own the pub too) so you can eat/drink at either and bill linked automatically.
Very welcoming staff, especially Daniella at the Inn and James at The Manor - we were so well looked after. Food fabulous on both sites, good wine list. Village is beautiful and not too many tourists. Good walks from the village and a golf course as part of the whole set up.
The Old Court House was very well maintained, clean and as advertised! Such a rich history we found fascinating. The location was central to all thing Castle Combe (albeit a very small village). Castle Combe is literally like stepping back in time and absolutely overflowing with charm and beauty! The locals are warm and sell ice cream and cakes right out of their homes! PS. Castle Inn dining was exceptional.
We loved the Edwardian wing where our room was. Probably the most comfortable beds my sister and I had throughout our trip around England. The breakfast was exceptional. The staff amazing. We only stayed one night but next time, we plan to stay longer and really enjoy the courtyard. It was wonderful walking the grounds at night. An absolute must for anyone wanting a unique experience.
Room was really cosy and nicely decorated, breakfast was amazing and the staff were really friendly - I worked outside the day after my stay and they were really accommodating. We also had Sunday dinner which was incredible! Lots of nice places to see in the surrounding area - we only had time to go to Castle Combe but definitely want to come back and explore more.
Liked breakfast especially half size would been nice to have fruit with cereal or fruit as alternative. Overall food was good. Room nice size with king size bed and coffee machine nice addition. Staff friendly and helpful. Had dinner both nights was delicious. Location in Ford near Castle Combe great for circuit. Very happy to stay there again.
We love the location, very close to castle combe which we visited. Staff was lovely and made sure that we were looked after. Breakfast was superb as well as the food that they serve in the restaurant. The room was very spacious and clean as well as the toilet and shower. We had an amazing stay!
A quintessentially English cottage in a beautiful village. Very well equipped and comfortable with a well stocked Kitchen. The vaulted cathedral ceiling in the Master Bedroom with a four poster bed completed our wonderful relaxing vacation in the Cotswolds.
Really cozy vibe. The patio has a fire pit and the owner allowed us to use it. It’s really a perfect place if you are looking for somewhere to relax and to have a break from the bustling city life. The place is also close to Castle Combe
Great property, and great location.
If you are looking to get away for a quiet weekend within walking distance of Castle Combe, then this is the perfect place!
And as a bonus, you get a wonderful view of the Ponies in the Paddock!
Friendly helpful staff without being intrusive both at hotel and golf club
Large comfortable room to accommodate us and our dog.
Large bathroom with toasty under floor heating
Delicious ,excellent quality food
Very Covid safe
The hotel was fine and our drinks were served competently, as was the breakfast. Unfortunately, as we had spent the afternoon and early evening with a friend of ours, we were unable to sample the dinner menu.
My wife requires clean and safe. It was safe. Partially clean. Hard to find isolated location. Room and bath were tiny and dark. Lots of noise from people moving around from unit above.
Bathroom was really well done. The king bed was very comfortable. The ambiance v was lovely. The Castle Inn restaurant offered a nice selection for dinner.
