Riverside Hotel by Chef & Brewer Collection, hotel in Burton upon Trent

With a bar and restaurant, Riverside Hotel sits in the Staffordshire village of Branston on the banks of the River Trent.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel staff were dealing with an emergency water leak, it did not affect our stay at all. The location was so lovely.

Holiday Inn Express Burton on Trent, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Burton upon Trent

The Holiday Inn Express Burton on Trent is located in Centrum 100 Business Park, situated on the A38, just south of Derby and the A50 spine road.

The staff were more than happy to help with all of our requests. They asked us to check the set up of the room before we went up, and when we came down to let them know the sofa bed wasn't set up, they sorted it out very quickly with no grumbles. The man who checked us in (I didn't get his name) was extremely friendly and really wanted to make sure we were comfortable. He was brilliant.

It was perfect! We were up North for a funeral so just an overnight stay. I’m allowed us to come back after the wake and relax with some home comforts and time to reflect before we made our way home South the next day.

I cannot see my negative comments about the food we had for dinner or any feedback. I said the mash was reconstituted, the frozen vegetables soggy and the pies didn’t have any recognisable pieces of meat in them. Not very pleasant to try to eat. We were woken at 7am by our neighbour running a bath. Very noisy - like a truck hitting the room. No way could you sleep through it,

The hotel room was very basic, but had everything necessary.

The hotel room was very basic, but had everything necessary. The amazing thing is how very inexpensive it was. The hotel is close to the train station, making it very convenient for us, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're into luxury this isn't your place, but if you're on a budget, you can't beat it.

It is a very interesting town, with a good local football club, a beer museum and a huge Coors brewery. An (allegedly) haunted house called Sinai with, I believe a moat and some lovely walk ways especially along the canal towpath.

We don’t know this place at all. It’s off our beaten track.

We don’t know this place at all. It’s off our beaten track. My grandson lives in the area and held his wedding at the wedding barns in April. We stayed at St. George’s park hotel on that occasion … because they couldn’t hold a reception due to covid so put the party off until this week. I didn’t like St George’s Park hotel, the food was awful and the noise of drills was deafening … so I searched for somewhere that I thought was nearer enough for an overnight stay. The taxi cost £20 each way to get there which wasn’t great, but the stay at Dovecliff Hotel was lovely.

Location in central Burton made access to the town easy with on street parking outside the property. The accommodation was well appointed, clean and came with all those travel essentials and everyday practical extras, like washing up liquid and extra toilet rolls, to make the stay pleasurable. Information from the owners was clear and delivered in a timely fashion. Would certainly make use of this property or one of the others available when in the area again

One of the Hilton Hotel staff I would like to give a special mention. Mukhtiar, thank you for your help in getting the Takeaway Driver to the Hotel. This guy was so helpful, a credit to the Hilton staff. The reason for the Takeaway, was that the restaurant was closed, & as I stated above, no room service!!

Cheap and cheerful. Didn't have much interaction with staff but lady at front desk was helpful. Price is good, right next to Lidl which would be great for access to the bakery, too bad Lidl had technical difficulties with the bakery when we were staying, but otherwise this would have been great.

The property was very comfortable and had a lot of charm—it was the perfect “quintessential” British country pub with a lovely (and lively) bar area. The restaurant was actually much better than typical pub fare, which was a great surprise, and the staff were all very friendly.

Excellent accommodation with secure parking, very clean. Very well equipped best that we have visited. Less than 10 min stroll into the town Centre. Plenty of places to visit locally. Would highly recommend Peel House for a self accommodation stay in Burton-upon-Trent.

The hotel is dated. Looks like it’s not been decorated since it was built? By far and away the dirtiest and shabbiest hotel I’ve ever stopped in
