The area is wonderful with some easy and very challenging walks available. The Snug also provided some lovely basics like milk, some crumpets, and butter. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The TV also has accounts set up so you can watch Netflix and so on. The dog treats and towels were also a brilliant extra. The shower was excellent and good quality.
The communication from the owners was nothing but perfect.
I think they go above and beyond, and I'd love to stay again.

Perfect place to stop off whilst walking The Dales Way. Lynne was an excellent host, very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, phoning the day before we arrived to see if she could make us a reservation at the local pub and getting in food and drink to accommodate dietary requirements. The room was immaculate and really well thought out - I had possibly the best shower I've ever had and and we both slept really well in the enormous super king bed. The breakfast was beautiful and had everything you could possibly think of on offer. If we're ever in Buckden again we will definitely be looking to return to Romany Cottage. Thank you.

Lovely old stone hotel right in the heart of the beautiful village of Kettlewell. Kevin and the team really were were genuinely friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay.
The room was nice and very well furnished. The little touches impressed us - swiss chocolates and high quality biscuits in the room along with twinings tea and decent instant coffee. Decent speed free wifi to the rooms. Good quality towels, soap products and bed linen. They service the rooms every day too.
The breakfast menu is nice and varied, there's great fresh coffee, juices and various cereals plus quite a long list of cooked options from a full cooked breakfast to lighter options - we stayed for three nights and tried most of the breakfast menu between us - we weren't dissapointed.
We had dinner and drinks the first night - they have a talented Indian chef so as well as more traditional pub/hotel dishes they do amazing curries with rice, paratha and indian salad. They have a wide range of drinks, my wife enjoyed the great wine list and I enjoyed the range of beers including a few alcohol free options when I had to drive.
There's free car parking round the back plus a beer garden with the river running right alongside, perfect for a pre-dinner drink.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend - the range of walks locally including Malham Tarn, Malham Cove and so on are amazing - we were agog at how beautiful the scenery was when driving around the area - and unlike other national parks the walls either side of you are low or there's a wire fence instead and so you get an unobstructed view of the amazing Yorkshire Dales as you travel around rather than just staring at stone walls the height of your car.

Fantastic traditional Yorkshire Inn in an idyllic setting next to the River Wharfe.
Great beer, great food (especially the award winning pies made by the lovely Sarah) and a pub atmosphere that you will not find anywhere else, created by the ever-entertaining owner and landlord Ed. We shall be back!!!

Buckden is a beautiful village with plenty of walks to woodlands, waterfalls, the river, the ridge, and Buckden Pike - the view from the ridge, even on a rainy day, was stunning. The Buck Inn serves delicious meals (portions are massive) and has the friendliest staff. There is a village shop, but it's possibly seasonal as it was closed during my stay.

The White Lion is situated outside of the village. quite a walk for someone with arthritis, so we took the car but seasoned walkers wouldn't find it a long trek at all and the scenery is beautiful.

Set in a beautiful rural location I preferred to eat in because it was comfortable and friendly. My favourite place was Skipton where I enjoyed visiting the Castle, the market and the Trinity church for coffee. Also walking in the woods was good.

There are many great walks from the cottage.
There are many great walks from the cottage. There is a limited bus service but worth using if you don't want to use your own transport. For most of the year you have a local shop and a cosy cafe in the village and all year round there is the village pub. Other pubs also doing food are between 1-3 miles away.
If you wanted to use your own transport there are places like Hawes and Aysgarth to the north or Skipton and Pateley Bridge to the south.
