The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. The setting is beautiful surrounded by hills and the accommodation was clean very comfortable and stylish. Even though the menu in the restaurant was reduced due to a midweek stay, all the food was excellent!! *****

Pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc is incredible for what you pay per night. This place is an amazing value for money if you have spent a few days hiking in the fells and need a final night resting.

Great location in a very picturesque town

In Kendal town centre, the Riverside Hotel is a 17th-century building with a state-of-the-art leisure club. Rooms have river views, and Windermere and the Yorkshire Dales are 15 minutes' drive away.

Nothing not to like during our stay. Location for station and shopping and transport perfect. Exceptionally clean. Cleaning staff to be commended. Did not have time or energy to use the pool/gym. I was actually very poorly over the time of our stay, but the views from the window and the comfortable bed were appreciated. Other half very much enjoyed the breakfast quality and array of options. Food available in the bar was tasty, well made and enjoyable. Not over priced. Would like to return when I am fully recovered and would recommend to others given it is a three star rating. Staff we encountered were all very nice. Thank you
