Welcoming and helpful-we arrived in our motorhome.Warm cosy thatched inn. Beautiful furniture in our large room. Excellent meal in the dining room -my husband loved the baked celeriac with broccoli and tiny carrots. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Granite way for cycling and railway history. Bridestowe is a peaceful and scenic location not far from the town of Okehampton. It was ideal base for cycling in and around Dartmoor and was only 10 miles from Tavistock which is a very pleasant town to visit. There were several good restaurants around the area which were easily accessible by car. I would recommend this area for a relaxing break.

Also, when we booked online there was no mention anywhere that the restaurant (which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel) would be closed the day we went. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Unforeseen circumstances meant the room we booked was unavailable and we were transfered to their self catering property attached to the hotel. Nothing was too much for the staff who helped and served with a smile.
