Very nice located in the Highlands. We stayed for only one night during our ride from Inverness to Glasgow. We appreciated it very much :)

The guest house has a lovely feel that I’m sure tourists to the area will be very appreciative of. It’s tartan and shortbread, well mums cake anyway which was magnificent!
No 45, Ballater is a guesthouse set in an acre of gardens and is just 5 minutes' walk from the centre of Ballater. The individually designed rooms each offer unique charm.

First of all: Thank you so much, Alison and Les and Teddy!
ad breakfast: a huge range to choice from. The omelette was just unbelievable.
ad room: lovely, comfy rooms. The bathroom had even a bath tub. I slept extremely well because there was no noise.
It felt like home.
Alison and Les are wonderful and great hosts. And Teddy, the dog, is just cute.
This former church has been tastefully converted, enabling retention of the original features. Auld Kirk Hotel is situated in the heart of picturesque Royal Deeside.

Good location for Ballater restaurants and Facilities. We really like the art as well. The owners were genuine and very welcoming. The breakfast is superb whether thats the full Scottish cooked or the Porridge and fruit. Superb, thank you Kevin and Helen
Gulabin Lodge nestles beneath the mighty Ben Gulabin in the south of the Cairngorms National Park. The property offers stunning views of the glen and surrounding mountains.
Lovely village with interesting shops,. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Farquharsons which we rated as the best meaL of our holiday and there was a good lively atmosphere in the bar/restaurant, with friendly staff. Easy access to countryside rides.

Braemar is in Royal Deeside.
Braemar is in Royal Deeside. It is a small, picturesque village loved by walkers and tourists alike. Rightly proud of its history and royal connections.. it has lots to offer. It is the gateway to the Cairngorms, quaint local gift shops and lovely restaurants and bars. You can choose then to take the scenic route over the hills to Perth via Glenshee ( take a tour of the local gin distillery at Persie ) or take the coast road via Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory to the city of Aberdeen. We certainly enjoyed our visit and plan to return next year.

Clean, friendly with plenty of eateries and pubs.
Clean, friendly with plenty of eateries and pubs.
Best food and pub for me was Moorfield House Hotel. A little tucked away but worth the effort.
Loads of walking from local strolls to mammoth Munro hikes.
The countryside and wildlife is fantastic.
A stunning, spacious, beautifully-equipped and spotlessly clean cottage, located right at the heart of Braemar, with easy access to local facilities as well as scenic walks. The host (Gail) was brilliantly responsive, providing clear and timely advice on how to find and access the property. And the folders with information for visitors were really helpful. Complementary tea, coffee, biscuits and milk were very welcome, as was the fact that the wood burner had already been set up ready for us to light. We are already planning our next visit!
Honestly…as B&Bs go, they don’t get much better. Everything about the place was so well thought out that every expectation was met. From the warm welcome, to the cleanliness of the room and comfiness of the bed to the little personal touches and the wonderful breakfast. It’s right in the centre of Braemar too! Would definitely return.
The location was ideal, just on the outstirts of Braemar, very quiet but easy walking distance of town centre.
The facilities were good, comfortable and very clean.
The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had, perfect for the morning after watching England beat Germany.
Everything was great, owner and his son run this hotel on their own and they really are great and generous people! All the other stuff is great as well and are there for you the whole stay. Just perfect, really!
Sadly 24 hours after we left, this lovey hotel burned to the ground.
Further comments would be pointless.
Best wishes and good luck to the owner Malcom and his family.
The accommodation is very reasonably priced and was convienient for wandering into Braemar for dinner. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was clean and well equipped.
