Lyndale House, hotel in Bradwell

Situated in Bradwell, in a historic building, 18 km from Buxton Opera House, Lyndale House is a bed and breakfast with a garden and terrace.

Katrina and Tim were amazing hosts. Very kind, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. I was staying with my little terrier Otis and we had the best time. Very cosy room with cosy bad and massive private bathroom. Everything very clean. We came by train and it is only 30 min walk from Hope so great location. We did a lot of hiking and trail running and had the best time.

The Merchant's Yard, hotel in Bradwell

Set in Tideswell, 12 km from Buxton Opera House, The Merchant's Yard offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

We had an excellent stay at the Merchants Yard for my partners birthday. Very clean and modern, the special touches were appreciated. The breakfast was delicious, and we had food in the evening which was also superb. All staff were fabulous, and explained everything and looked after us. We booked the hotel for the electric charging facility, and were impressed to be given our own allocated space. Tideswell is very peaceful and a great location to walk to Millers Dale, and easy to drive to a variety of places for amazing walks and sights.we did arrive for the annual food festival which was entertaining, but otherwise a very quiet place.

Lovely village with two pubs and a co-op supermarket,...

Lovely village with two pubs and a co-op supermarket, Bakehouse sandwhich shop and deli and a famous ice-cream shop amongst others. It is within easy driving distance to many attractive villages such as Castleton, Hope, Edale, Bakewell, Eyam and Chatsworth House. It was a beautiful village to walk around with an Old Church, river and great views of the surrounding countryside. Driving at night down a particulary narrow unlit road from Hope to Bradwell (called Eccles Road) was a bit hair raising but we soon found an A road in and out after checking google maps for a longer but more easy driving route! All in all a good base to explore the Hope Valley and for a quiet, relaxing break.

    Excellent pub with rooms.

Excellent pub with rooms. The room was beautifully decorated with a 'hare' theme', a comfortable king bed and ensuite of course. We visited The White Hart pub up the hill to try the local beer and then ate in the Shoulder of Mutton. The food was great - pub grub done really well. Excellent breakfast - we could mix and match from the menu as well as sampling the continental fare. The staff were lovely throughout. We would love to come back!

Bradwell is quaint and very beautiful. The 'inn' promised much but certainly didn't deliver. Can't think of anywhere worse I've stayed in all my well travelled years! Avoid at all costs

Overall, a really beautiful and friendly little town.

Overall, a really beautiful and friendly little town. Not too far from Hope station, had a Co-Op, a bakery, several pubs, small shops, but it was near impossible to get around to other areas of Peak District without a car, so I would only recommend this area for those privileged enough to own/rent one.
