An Evening meal was served to a large party during a busy night for the hotel. The food was served hot and well presented all together. There was no issue with any meal. This indicates an organised and well run kitchen and service team. The staff were friendly and professional. The rooms are mostly ground floor with parking directly outside French Doors. They are clean and the bathroom facilities are good. Handy for the heritage steam train and local sights such as Beamish. Would like to thank the staff for a nice stay.

The hotel is just off junction 64 of the A1(M), less than 12 miles from Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham. It has free parking, a restaurant, a lounge bar and air-conditioned rooms.

The bed was comfortable and it had fresh clean sheets on, the TV worked, the shower was nice hot and there was complimentary tea & coffee in the room plus clean towels. Host was friendly and very helpful. The price was reasonable.
