Used this as a suitable place to stop before and after a trip to Cardiff. It was perfect. We missed the opportunity to stay for dinner but it looked very good. The room was both comfortable and clean. All staff were friendly and efficient.

Loved the room from the way it was decorated to the comfort of the bed. The bathroom and room in general was a decent size and didn't feel cramped at all. Very much enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.

This is a fantastic inn and Wendy and her team could not have made us more welcome. The food was delicious and it didn't matter that they do not usually do dinner on Sunday or Bank Holiday as Wendy cooked just for us one evening and brought us plates for our picnic on the other. Highly recommended!

    Get yourself to Lydney Harbour.

Get yourself to Lydney Harbour. Free parking and a coffee shack serving hot food and plenty of outside seating. Good for a walk and amazing views across the Severn Estuary and the mud flats, plus industrial history. And a big Tesco for all your essential needs.

We had a lovely one-night stay here, visiting family locally. Staff was friendly when we checked in, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The pub was buzzy downstairs but the rooms were quiet. We hope to visit again soon.

Great walks nearby in the forest of dean. The food at the Globe Inn was excellent. We rented bikes from Dean Forest Cycles, which has a lovely little cafe, and a great location to get you onto the cycle trails around the forest of dean. Very accesible by car.

The Globe Inn sits beside the main road.

The Globe Inn sits beside the main road. It's a pleasant, popular place to eat out at with a good pub food menu. Although busy in the last week of August, the Covid19 precautions pre-bookings and table service were well managed, so we could relax. There is another pub nearby with a campsite behind it, a petrol station, a church and a few houses on side roads. The rest is just countryside. You definitely need your own transport to explore the wider area, although we did walk along the lanes with views over fields and the Severn estuary. It's not far from the Forest of Dean where we enjoyed walking in the wonderful woods. You can hire mountain bikes to follow woodland trails, visit a steam railway or mining museum. Follow forest trails around Symonds Yat or the start of the Offa's Dyke path from Chepstow along the beautiful Wye valley with views of the ruins of Tintern Abbey. Chepstow racecourse lies north of historic Chepstow town with its interesting old streets, harbour and magnificent castle. There's a diving centre nearby or you maybe you can try canoeing.
