A hidden gem. A small and still original alpine village.
A hidden gem. A small and still original alpine village. The hype of other tourist spots is far away. Still, the village has a few Restaurants to choose and his own cheese manufactory. Ideal for a break away. Well, there is no train but at least public bus connection. (I also have to admit that we travelled by car 😬.)

Lovely towns among rugged mountain roads-- great for summer, perhaps not winter unless you are a master driver with a great SUV! The Museum of Grand Chartreuse was lovely, informative, and surprisingly interactive. The town itself offers many causal restaurants, is clean, proprietors are very friendly. We ate dinner at a small snack/bar/pizzeria called Le Hibou Gourmand and the staff was very friendly, food was fresh, drinks were nice and cold (on a very, very hot day), and overall welcoming. Will likely stay in-town on future trips to the area.CatherineUnited States
