The staff and owner of Château Gassies made me feel like I was here on holiday, while I was here for business! An exceptionally gorgeous location, tastefully decorated rooms and facilities and a staff that clearly takes pride in their top notch level of service and dedication to their profession. If you are in the Bordeaux region and you want a place to come to rest and indulge in quaint, classic French luxury - Château Gassies is the place for you. I will be visiting again as a tourist next time.

This is a small yet interesting town with lots to occupy the foodie and the inveterate shopper. The railway hotel restaurant has a nice menu with oysters for €2.00 and good wines to wash them down in the midday October sun. Latresne is just 15 minutes from Bordeaux but it changes all. A village with a green landscape, it has meanwhile all the necessary facilities: several restaurants, a pharmacy, a bakery, and nice boutiques. There is also a bicycle path in the forest nearby where you can ride a bike or go for a jogging. To finish, the local people are just amazing - so friendly and charming!ElenaFrance

Our car broke down nearby and we had a wait a week for repairs to be carried out. The welcome was warm and our hostess cheerful and accommodating. Latresne is a quiet rural suburb of Bordeaux, but with a café that doubles as an antiques and curios shop next door, and a decent restaurant across the square, we wanted for nothing. Despite not planning to be there, we enjoyed an extra week's holiday in easy reach of the city, with all it has to offer.

We were in Latresne to attend a wedding in nearby Tabanac and I would recommend this Hotel for a quiet enjoyable stay. We were made very welcome by the host/manageress.
