Christine and Patrick were the perfect hosts. Welcoming, generous and charming. They made me feel at home immediately, offering me full use of all ameaneties. The Schirmech train station and local Aldi supermarket are only a 5 minute walk from the accommodation.
This accommodation is perfect for tourists (walkers) wishing to climb the GR5 into the Vosges Mountains. The views along the trails are breathtaking.

Although we booked at Hotel Du Donon our room was at hotel Le Velleda, which has a star more. Our room was under the roof and luckily had airconditioning. We enjoyed the "formule" for hotel guests for dinner, which had been adjusted very well to my diet.

Good communication with owner. Quiet and well positioned near centre of village. Excellent WiFi. Good kitchen facilities. Comfortable bed but bed linen could be better. Furniture is adequate. Nice couch for relaxing. I stayed 2 nights. It wasn't terrible but definitely not good value for money.
