A lovely old room with large modern bathroom, a shared dining room and kitchen. Breakfast was brought in fresh each morning and laid out for us on the large dining table that we shared with the guests in the room opposite us.
On arrival, we were met by our host, who owned the house, all the other houses in the village and the chateau that overlooked the village, where she lived! She was a lovely young lady and very helpful, explaining about the chateaux garden, which is open to the public, and that one (reduced price) ticket can be used throughout her guests stay.
The garden was absolutely wonderful, we fell in love with it and spent hours just walking around looking at the various follies and water features. The little museum in the old stables was interesting and gave the history of the chateaux and it’s owners. It has now belonged to the same family for more than 300 years.
Parking in front of the property. The village is very safe, on the edge of the River Allier, with a restaurant and a creperie, a gift shop and an antiques shop where villagers bought their bread!

Château Maucouvent is a very charming place to stay, situated in a calm and well-kept private park. It is the perfect location to start „la Loire à Velo“: Kilomètre 0 is only a 10 km ride away and can be reached by taking the bike path next to the nearby river. We were staying there with our kids and had two beautiful rooms with a separate bathroom and a little private patio with direct access to the park. All rooms are very clean and nicely renovated. Breakfast is lovely and make sure you don’t miss the home-made dinner! It is at star level and will make every gourmet's heart beat faster. Nathalie and Andy did everything to make our stay an unforgettable experience - thank you so much for your hospitality!

Laure and Melanie looked after us royally. a great start to our Loire Valley cycle holiday.
The chateau garden was amazing. The apartment was very old but renovated in keeping with its age. Modern bathroom with large shower. Use of dining room and kitchen. Good breakfast brought in and laid up for you to serve yourself. Everything cleared and washed up for you later! Apremont is a small village, beautifully kept. We walked everywhere. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but did have a lovely galette at the creperie. We would definitely return for another stay.
