Excellent location. I am walking the Via de la Plata - perfect overnight stay. I was met by the host, taken to the apartment. Very spacious and clean. A washing machine - a joy when you are walking. The host recommended where to get breakfast in the morning. Very good. Altogether a great experience.

My second visit and, as before, it was an enjoyable stay. My room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial with a wide choice of hot and cold items to suit all tastes. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. There is a large lobby with comfortable seats are an assortment of small bars and cafes nearby. The railway and bus stations are about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
Set 10 minutes' walk from Plaza Mayor Square, Hotel Alcántara offers 24-hour reception, free safe and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is just outside Cáceres old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The village is very small and the streets even smaller - don’t be tempted to drive too far in or you may need a crane to lift you out! As far as we could tell there is just one restaurant that is very basic. It serves as the village bar, too. A place ideal as a stop over on a long drive if you want to avoid busier centres.
