I don't know exactly why but it's one of my favorite hostels I've stayed at. There's a beautiful outdoor kitchen on the terrace with a lovely view. But you also have the option to eat at the cafe/bar/chiringuito of the hostel. I also highly appreciated that I could just check in when I arrived even though it was before official check in time. The people working at the hostel were very welcoming but still authentic and themselves. I loved my time in San Jose 🏜️🇪🇸🌊

Really lovely location
Quiet
Good local bars/restaurants even in November
Long beach to walk along
Quaint squares with children's playgrounds and bars etc
Easy to walk around, downhill to the beach, then flat rest of the way
Parking limited, but we didn't have a problem
Quite a lot of steps plus handrails, for better views
Nearest bar, downhill, was excellent

Small Mediterranean coastal town in the Cabo de Gata National Park. Very attractive location with beautiful beaches and good bars and restaurants. However, we have only visited the town out of season (usually over Christmas) when it is very quiet, but by no means dead. It is a different story in mid summer when it is absolutely teeming with holiday makers

San Jose (out of season, as we've not visited in summer) is...
San Jose (out of season, as we've not visited in summer) is a delightful, low rise, old-fashioned looking place yet with some great (modern) restaurants, bars and cafes. I hope it remains as under developed as it is as it is a total gem on this built up coast. The Cabo de Gata natural park is simply stunning - if you have a car and drive 15 minutes west to the beaches out of town, you will be rewarded with long stretches of almost empty beaches (again out of season) backed by stunning agave plants and rock formations. truly unique and beautiful - long may it continue as a relatively unspoiled beauty spot.

We love San Jose. It's just gorgeous.
We love San Jose. It's just gorgeous. The only down side is that it's not easy to get to nearby places by public transport. It's easy enough to get from Almeria to San Jose though abd tge buses are comfy and reliable. Check out Bar Monsul. Great fun and good value for money. Lovely beaches but too cold in November for us to go in the water.

This resort is quiet
It suited us as we are a mature couple
This resort is quiet
It suited us as we are a mature couple
It is more expensive to eat out than surrounding areas however there are excellent restaurants in the resort
We had dinner in Casa Pepe which needs to be prebooked
By the harbour there are good seafood restaurants
We stayed there for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff is very friendly and helpful, e.g. with tipps where to go or where to eat. The hotel itself is decorated with love, very picturesque. We had a Superior Room with own Rooftop terrace, it was clean and spacious and also very nice decorated.
The breakfast was very good, too, absolutely recommendable. We would definetly go there again.
Merche & Pepe are fantastic hosts in this charming B&B: they do not only provide you with fantastic restaurant & hiking tips around San Jose, they also deliver wonderful breakfast with tasty home made jam! Quiet rooms, swimming pool with fantastic views, turtles/frogs/dogs as pet, easy combinable with San Jose city and Cabo De Gata national parc, Casa Agua Marina is the place to stay over when visiting this part of Spain!
Beautiful property, amazing hospitality, walkable location to the local shops & restaurants & parking available! Many beaches are a quick drive out of the town, although the beach in San José is nice too. Comfortable bed, soundproof rooms. Highly recommend. Also the breakfast for 7€ was well worth it. San José is the highlight of Cabo de Gata & of Spain.
The owners of the hotel were very welcoming. They let us borrow beach gear and also let us use the shower facilities in the gym after we had already checked out. If you're visiting Monsul or any of the spectacular nearby beaches, I highly recommend this hotel as a home base.
Everything was great. Very short walk to the beach, restaurants, supermarket, bakery. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was excellent. Price was very good in relation to the stay. It has an elevator. 24 hour coffee machine. Parking and the wifi worked well.
Great location in San Jose, a short walk from the beach and other amenities. Comfortable, clean rooms and a nice patio and terrace area. The bar is also a great thing to have although it is cash only. Overall, a great place to stay in San Jose.
The room was great with an amazing view of the ocean and marina. It's a short walk to San Jose Beach and restaurants, shops, etc. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Commanding fantastic position overlooking San Jose, this is a little part of heaven. So relaxing watching sunsets and sunrises. Good walk into main drag of town with fabulous restaurant below apartment- Mirador
Have stayed here several times. Location is ideal, seafront and 5 minute walk to the town. Great walks not far too. Hotel facilities are very good, staff friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.
Amazing comfortable mattresses and pillows, I slept better there than at home.
It was always super clean and the staff (especially the cleaning one) was super friendly.
Would repeat in San José.
Location was excellent for walking around town. Restaurant/Bar in hotel. Good food and wine. Friendly restaurant staff. Rooms were large and comfortable.
